Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

It seems like AC demands a generator or you have to get into putting together a very robust 12V setup. Totally.

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

Our system is built around powering the fridge (35L) and a diesel heater (2kW, 10hrs/night), but there is also a water pump and lights, but those seem negligible. The battery (100aH lithium) is sized to run the system for 3 days without solar or driving the truck because that’s about the longest...

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

I’m not near my truck, but my diesel heater pic would be even more boring and ambiguous than the pic of my electrical setup. Tacomas have cubbies in the back of the truck bed. I removed one of those cubbies and installed a sheet of aluminum in its place to mount the heater and drill holes...

Those catalytic heaters add a ton of moisture to the air, since H2O is one of the byproducts of burning propane or butane, in addition to CO. They seem to be good for <60mins of heat and then you start to get a lot of condensation that may drip or freeze (and then drip). The forced air options...

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

No pics, but we love our Cook Partner, so simple, easy to clean, sips fuel compared to Camp Chefs. Our camping meals are kind of productions, because we like camp cooking, so I couldn’t see cooking inside (maybe the JetBoil for something warm in a pinch). I’d rather just set up a tarp or awning...

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

It looks the part though… and that’s all that matters for Instagram anyways, so you’re good! I’ve probably said it before, but I can’t say enough good things about the ExPed MegaMat Duo. If you go the bag/bucket route for a toilet, skip the seats that are made for 5gal buckets. They are...

Portable battery and 12v outlet question

The YouTubers, Ambition Strikes, highlighted EcoFlow’s hub system that will power multiple 12v items, but I can’t recall if the system was permanent or portable. I believe they are sponsored by EcoFlow and I am not affiliated with either, so grain of salt and all that…

Gladiator Pop-Up Pass Through Camper Build

I have a stainless steel sink basin from our 1980 sailboat that was renovated. It’s 12.75” x 11.75” across the top, 6.5” deep with the current drain assembly, and it needs a quick cleanup. Do you want it to play around with?

    Suggestions for camping/cooking gear please

I also recently switched to a Plano Sportsman box and added the weatherstrip seal. It’s fantastic, coming from Rubbermaid Tough-whatever boxes, the seal is something else. I also moved my kitchen stuff to a Husky Connect rolling toolbox and attachable drawers, which has been very convenient.

    Collapsible springlike coffee pour over

https://gsioutdoors.com/ultralight-java-drip.html This has been working well for us. Using a filter helps with clean up. As mentioned above, it probably offers cooler coffee in cold temps.

I think you’d be looking for a 6’ Flippac, no?

I used to carry a gardening knee pad in our Tacoma before we installed furniture and a flat tailgate insert. I thought those tailgate inserts, like a Mountain Hatch, were gimmicky, but they save your knees and you spill way less beer.

Trade case of Dr. Pepper for OME 2895X Springs

Can I get in on this? I need some motivation to change out my front springs… I’ll throw in some 9885s for the front to make it a whole lift set.

    Got Scammed by SAMUE

I’ve noticed that PayPal has recently upped their fees, which is a bummer, but cheap insurance to not get ripped off. I always offer to pay the fees when I’m not buying something face-to-face. Looks like Venmo has cheaper buyer protection fees by ~1.5%.

Does Anyone Actually Use Their House Water for Drinking?

I always fill from my home and pack a filter to fill from anywhere else. For me, it was less about the bugs and more about the plastic taste that many house systems impart on the water. No matter what the plastic manufacturers say, if you’re tasting something, it can’t be good for you. After a...
