6ft Flippac for 3rd Gen Tacoma with Interior Build

Prices lowered. I haven’t spoken with anybody, so that was on me for listing it too high. If anybody’s interested, get in touch, I’d really just like to move on and make sure this setup gets used the way it’s supposed to be. My family of 3 loved it. I know cold weather is coming. I’ve camped...

6ft Flippac for 3rd Gen Tacoma with Interior Build

I have also this posted on Tacoma World and someone inquired about the condition of the hinges and surrounding sealant, which is a known trouble spot in Flippacs. This one is immaculate in that area, please see the pics:

    MIssion Overland Trailer Owners page

I took a trip to a dealer that had one in stock and confirmed that the floor is, in fact, plywood.

    MIssion Overland Trailer Owners page

Hi MO owners. Potential Summit buyer here. What is the floor made of? I’ve seen posts/ads saying ‘no wood’ and other posts (in this thread) saying the floor is marine plywood (well sealed and insulated, of course). Just need confirmation from those in the know. Thanks ahead of time!

    New CHEAP satellite messenger!

…and I just paid for my annual SPOT subscription last week. The coverage area seems a bit limited for now (just US). Anyone know of that’s only for messaging? Or also for emergencies?

Need photos! Flatbed w\ boxes & wedge style topper

There are some that are the height of a regular truck bed, but it doesn’t seem that there’s too many out there, especially second hand. And it still doesn’t fix the too deep part… Bowen and OEV make nice solutions for both of these, but jeez, $$$.

Need photos! Flatbed w\ boxes & wedge style topper

What about a service body instead of boxes and a flatbed?

    Camper considerations

I think our 6’ Flippac (similar to Habitat, but a little wider on top) is full with 2 adults and a 3yo, but I wouldn’t say we’re minimalist. We’re in Salt Lake area if you want to have a look sometime.

Lightweight Cabinet Materials - Plywood/Coosa Alternatives

We used ThermoLite to replace some plywood bulkheads and and the floorboards in our sailboat and saved a few bucks over Coosa. It was also easier to get (2 sheet vs 5 sheet minimum), but I do not think it’s quite as durable as plywood. Cover with fiberglass in areas that need strength. Paint...

Flip-pac / Fiberglass Repair So Cal

Have you tried boat repair shops? Where the hinge goes into the top and bottom sections are the only thing that looks too concerning. It would be best to get that camper off of the truck for the repairs. Treat your repairs like a boat, good resources for that include West System’s website, Don...

    Add water tank gauge?

I use the mechanical-only version of these in the water tank and diesel heater tank of our truck. They are great for approximating what’s left in the tank and don’t seem to mind sloshing at all, since they’re intended for boats. If you install a gauge into the tank, I would be concerned about...
