Flip-pac / Fiberglass Repair So Cal

Hi,

I have a Flip-pac camper on my 2000 Tacoma that is in need of refurbishment. Im in Los Angeles. I’ve called a few fiberglass repair spots (which are few and far between) and haven’t found any interest.

I’ve seen a lot of people refurbish these here so thought I would ask. Anyone have any recommendations for somebody to rebuild mine? It’s cracking, etc…

Would love any input!

Scotty

Looks like some serious water intrusion, too bad. Best of luck and please post any results.

Have you tried boat repair shops?

Where the hinge goes into the top and bottom sections are the only thing that looks too concerning. It would be best to get that camper off of the truck for the repairs. Treat your repairs like a boat, good resources for that include West System’s website, Don Casey’s books, and, of course, YouTube. Use epoxy-based resin systems and not polyester.

These guys are in east San Diego. They do repairs on a lot of camper types and very recently posted on Instagram with a Flippac they did a bunch of restoration work on (at the hinge area, etc.). I'd give them a call.

Thanks for the info. I was thinking about tackling it myself but I dont have the space to take it off the truck and like you said, where the hinges are look a bit complicated.

Save yourself grief and just take it to a pro, you'll end up doing that anyway.
