What kind of winch is this?

I am pretty sure it is electrically powered, but has no label on it.

    Control road to mt. Lemon

I called them about a month ago and they told me it was going to stay closed this year until May 1st, because there was so much snow.

    Rover V8

I know you asked for them on D2s, but the 3.9 in our 89 Range Rover did not blow its first head gasket until 212,000 miles. We fixed it and sold it at 300,000. I miss that one - it was one of the best vehicles we ever owned. The 4.2 in our 93 did it in 120,000. On that one you could smell...

    Camp Baby Sleeping Setups

This very issue is why we got a heater. We tried cosleeping, but she always got perpendicular to us so she was kicking me and head buttting my wife. We tried putting her in her own bag or under her blanket, but she always wiggled out. We ended up buying the smallest tent trailer we could find...

Camping with kids..Off the beaten path or in a campground?

We camped in remote spots with out little one. First trip was when she was 3 months old, and the only reason we waited that long was because it took that long for the snow to melt. We camped somewhere north of Lake Powell Labor Day Weekend 2001. 37°16'54.55"N, 111°31'13.22"W or thereabouts...

    unbreakable family rules / ;essons

Our number one rule: No whining, no fake crying! Our kid has figured out it doesn't work on us, but when our nieces and nephews come to stay with us for a day or two, they always try to pull it. Last month, we watched our two nephews, one aged 4 and the other just turned 1. They both...

    Neat tent idea

It reminds me of this one, which was how one family of 4 traveled from England to Rhodesia in a SWB Land-Rover: One kid slept across the front seats, the parents in that back extension, and the teenage son slept on a cot outside. http://www.great1953trek.nidi.org.uk/index.html

    Trips and DVDs...

We got one for when we drove across the country. Driving I-40 across the Great Plains is really boring. Since we rarely let our kid watch TV at home, she was very fascinated with it and it kept her occupied for most of the trip. About a year after that trip, it was stolen, and we have never...

1983 Land Rover 110 with the 4cyl petrol - Engine advice

It is the 2.5 engine, not the 2.25, which means 5 main bearings instead of 3, and a hotter cam, so more power. Like 85 horsepower instead of 75. It will be slow, but you will be able to outrun VW buses. Personally, and assuming you are in North America, if it were rust free and in good shape...

    Taking the big jump!

Watch out with the General online tests on QRZ.com. I found the random number generator heavily favored the first couple of questions in each category, so even though I took it a gazillion times, quite a few possible questions never came up.

Right Hand Drive, in US, - Advice (300TDI R380)

Ditto what the others said. The biggest issue for me is it is sometimes when turning left at a traffic light, if there is no left turn arrow, it is hard to see if you are safe to go, especially if there is a big truck facing you trying to turn left. Also pulling out to pass is difficult, but I...

Aux tank for a Disco1, why buy when you can made your own...

I can't use the Rover fuel tanks under the front seats, at least not easily. The battery is under the left seat, and the propane tanks for the stove are under the right seat. The easiest option is to do what Ron did and put a tank behind the rear quarter panel.
