HA! Very cool! I had wondered if something like this existed but just have never looked. That is really a great idea just as long as it is roomy enough to get the warm air that your torso creates down to your feet, which isn't a problem in most normal bags.
This is true and as I had mentioned earlier, more of the failures tend to be the shafts snapping inside the casing.
I also think the 2nd gen Frontier and X feel more truck like than the Toyota offerings. Just as with the FJ Cruiser we have, you sit very low and almost on the floor, much like...
HA! You don't have to ask me twice to pray for cooler weather. They are predicting rain for most of the area between Phoenix and Prescott on Wednesday, which could be both a good and bad thing, so if you are heading back on the bike be aware of that.
Sounds like a great trip Tim! Thanks for posting up. Too bad to hear about the truck going over the edge, but glad to hear no one was hurt. Looking forward to seeing some video and pics!
Hey Gone2Baja, good to see you over here on ExPo.
As for the front diff, many people have voiced a concern about it. There have been a number of them that have failed on the trail. That being said, the failures usually involved lots of throttle and the "death bounce". Meaning, the driver is...
I absolutely love that area! I haven't been there in about 7 or 8 years now. Much too long if you ask me. I need to revisit soon. Thanks for the great pics!
I use dryer lint all the time. I keep some in my survival kit inside a zip-lock bag to keep it dry. As with your experience, it usually only takes me 1 or 2 strikes with the flint/steel and the lint goes up in flames. I have also experimented with the Vaseline method and found that if you use...
I have not yet ordered from Camping Lab but I have met Fernando in person and heard some about his way of business. He is stand up guy and knows how to take care of customers. This is just one more example why I will be ordering from Camping Lab sooner or later.
Along with a good number of us from Offroad Nissans of Arizona. :sombrero:
It should be an good time. I was just talking with Aaron (Penski61) this weekend about the event.
Very cool Tim! I would love to take the class as well. I am also looking into the Wilderness First Aid business but just might work my way up to the EMT-W. We will see since those are flippin expensive!
Once again great review and nice to hear that it was as useful and enjoyable as you have...
Ahh man, I missed that! That would have been really cool to see. I have seen a few YouTube videos of guys on these handcycle, and I thought it was really cool
That is what is great about AZFJ, we have all ages from mid 20's to mid 60's. Everyone wheels with everyone and enjoys the company regardless of age. Lots of great people and no one segregates for any reason. I would say the average age would be mid 30's to early 40's. So create an account and...
I am running extended length Bilstein 5125s on the rear axle of my Frontier and considering the same for the FJ. They are great and I have been really impressed with them. As Wil mentioned, the Icon stuff is amazing. It is a step above most everything on the market and pretty much race quality.
I just noticed you are in AZ. Make sure you check out www.azfj.org. We are very active, there is always someone willing to lend a hand with mods, and there is tons of knowledge between everyone there. Post up, and come to a meet sometime! BTW, I have seen your Taco cruising around the area...
