Hopefully, they'll balance easier. They can be a challenge to balance according to Discount Tire. "They're a good tire but they have heavy spots." I had a pair of KO2's years ago that would zero out on the Hunter Balancer and had bad freeway vibes. A Road Force rebalance couldn't cure it...
The Twin I beams rode so well offroad they were popular with Baja racers. They tend to eat tires though regardless of alignment. I found that they had a bit of wander too compared to the Chevy's and Dodges. They were the best bang for the buck.
The 300cu six and the high
The 302 got efi in '87,the 300cu in 1988 and the 460 in '89 as I remember. It revolutionized the efficiency, drive ability and reliability. My friend had an '84 F-150 six and manual trans and it got 18-20 as I recall. They were gutless, but did have a lot of long end...
We call it the erosion factor. The regear will be great as well as the high load capacity 18's. Those new fridges are nice and congrats chucking the A/C. A Hellwig Big Wig swaybar works wonders for highway travel. You can take one side off in 10 minutes for offroad.
Most of the 37-12.50-17's are D rated. The load capacities are very high. I don't think an E-rated would gain you much. The diesels need the E-rated if they tow heavy or carry a cabover.
I remember when those first came out. Nice compromise. I believe you had that photo of San Quintin. Put the biggest flotation tires you can on that with the dded weight and a winch bumper. Looks good on the truck. Nothing like getting out of the elements down there and climbing into a made up bed.
