I hand tighten the caps/plugs I use. Never smell any propane and when I undo the cap plug there's been a release of pressure many times. If the bottles roll around the caps can come loose.
There was a post on here somewhere that said the seals on the 1lbs tank are not very durable which limits...
My latest off pavement trip in the Subaru was 15:38hrs on 681.82km (423miles) of road using 19-20gal of fuel. I was carrying 10 gal reserve.
I'm planning a trip to see if there is a FSR that connects Gold Bridge BC to Riske Creek BC
All this applies to portable fuel containers and not to tanks that are built (gas tank in a Toy Hauler) in. BC Ferries calls them "integral". This is why I installed a 100lb ASME propane tank and can carry an auxiliary tank in the truck.
I cap/plug all my tanks. Quite a few times I've found...
None of this gets as far as being permitted or controlled. There are only 2 times I know of it even being questioned. One was a person carry several jerry cans on a rear hitch cargo tray. The other was people being questioned about jerry cans at the back or inside the back of a vehicle at the...
Snatch rings are useful.....with limitations.
- They have to be babied. This is the proper way to used them. Off the ground, away from dirt/debris. Notice he is using straps and not extending (reduced pulling power) the winch line to the full lengh.
Keep the soft shackle and ring stored...
Sika's urethane does not bond well to aluminum. 3M urethan is much better
Don't bond to the paint remove it and bond to cleaned /sanded aluminum within 4 hours of the prep.
There is always a chance of banging a panel with a branch. When I inspect our roof for leaks I give the panel mounts a...
I have a Katadyn (does not remove heavy metals) but I use 2 gravity feed Sawyer( carrys a spare filter) Squeeze set ups now.
My system for lake water (further out on the lake the water is better) is the same for the Katadyn or the Sawyers. Water goes through 10 micron and 1 micron filter bags...

One of the screw ups I see done is not having a drain out of the bottom so there is no water left in the tank when not in use and sediment can be flushed out.
A touch of Tef-Gel will prevent corrosion between the alum. and SS. Also prevent the SS from galling and lasts for years.

I don't know if Laser cutting will warp the alinumum but I know router cutting won't.
One of the places to get stuck is researching systems with panel voltage is less than 24V using and PWM controllers. You'll want to look toward houshold systems with MPPT controller that use panel voltages greater than 30V but not the systems that have 110VAC inverters on each panel.
Solar isn't so complex that you need a book.
Just review some of the setups on the subforum link below then post what you expect and the very knowledgeable people on this forum will help you.
