Wife needs indoor accommodations....what is worth buying?

Do you have pricing info available for your units?

How open would you guys be to offering CAD of the main structure (interior space mostly) so people could build out the rest of it in CAD? I would be much more inclined to buy something like this if I could load the floorplan in to Fusion360 and design my layout.

Overland Explorers Camp-X is $30k for a completely built out unit with insulated pop top. If something like this got too expensive, it wouldn't make any sense for me to just not buy a complete Camp-X.

Size: For added security we like to keep the main body within the truck bed so you can close and lock the tailgate. At the same time you can use the gate as a “porch”. The downside is the reduced interior space. I think this is a pretty good idea and would have no issues with it. I have an F150...

Low BTU AC options ---> turned cheapo 5kBTU install in the Idacamper2.0

I installed AC in my Hallmark and put a marine hatch on the side with a 10in radiator fan from amazon ($27) that is rated at 1100cfm - I’m sure I’ll be lucky if it puts out half that - to get good airflow. Without the radiator fan my AC would run for 60 seconds or less before shutting off. Ran...

Holy Grail Jeep, 05 LJ Rubicon

Educate me, why is this considered a holy grail jeep?

    It's Friday, let's talk cocktails.

Lately I've been enjoying a maple "old fashioned" with either some Buffalo Trace or Weller SR.

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

I can't say I care what the AC unit is, but it would be nice to have something a little more elegant than a simple shaker unit hanging out the back wall. I also don't need it to run on 12v. When I need AC I would either have a generator or shore power.

Went to buy one but looks like they're sold out for now, dang!

    Building a Micro-Split AC System

Very cool! I wanted to try something like this for my truck camper, but needed AC quick and didn't have time to mess around with this. I'm surprised there is nothing on the market in this size range for a decent price. I've seen 12v ones but they seem to start around $3k. Maybe I'll pick on...

ITTOG's Truck Camper Build (was 6' x 12' Trailer Conversion)

Interesting build. Any reason why you double up on steel in some areas or have lap joints instead of just using one continuous piece? How do you plan on skinning the area between the vertical support and the angle support near the truck cab? I've done some truck camper design and run some FEA...

Too Good to Pass Up Build (Done!)

Looks like a solid foundation to build on! There is a custom trailer builder close to me that sells 5x8s like this for $550. Thinking about seeing if I can talk them in to installing timbrens for me instead and then having a solid foundation to build on.

    price gouging.

I had a buddy over the other day and he saw some of my .22 ammo. Him "Geesh, you have a lot of .22 ammo." Me "Oh, that stuff? Yeah I ran out of space where I normally store it." Bought a boat load of it on black Friday when I could get 550rd boxes for $11.99.

Low BTU AC options ---> turned cheapo 5kBTU install in the Idacamper2.0

Glad I stumbled across this. Planning on installing a window unit like this in my 99 hallmark, but didn't want it completely hanging out the back like most you see. I plan on doing something very similar to this. I have an 8k BTU though so hoping it isn't too much for my small space...

    Trailer Frame Feedback Request

I used the 60/40 rule when I built my trailer. I would extend that tongue out farther if I were you. Others have mentioned making it so you could insert different lengths, That's really not a bad idea and could make garaging it for storage easier. I think .125 wall is good for the main part...

2020 Overland Explorer Vehicles (OEV) CAMP-X pop-up slide-in pickup camper (renamed "Back Country" as of 2023)

I honestly would be fine with a 110v unit that was only for use when on shore power. I have, however, seen some 12v mini-splits that are around 8k BTU (http://stores.12voltairconditioning.com/12-volt-ves-series-air-conditioners/) that I think would be good options for something like this, and...

    2015 F-150 Adventure Rig

Moving to a Super Duty is a wise choice, IMO. Do you know if you'll go with the 6.7 or 7.3? We are planning on doing a similar thing in a couple of years, will be the 7.3 Tremor package with Overland Explorer, not sure if flat bed or not yet though. Not that my input really matters, but...

    jmnielsen's "offroad" camper build

Been a little while since I updated this (not that anyone was necessarily following it). Lots of changes have happened. My 2005 F150 had a spark plug break and fall into the cylinder while doing 80 and was going to require a new motor. I didn't have the space or time to put one in myself...

    Total Composites full introduction!

Maybe I missed this, but do you guys provide CAD or drawings for your panels and extrusions? It would be great it if I could design what I wanted using your product specs and then have it quoted. I guess the panels are easy, just the extrusion profiles and other corner components and what not...
