Been waiting for someone to do a thorough write up like this! It is much appreciated.
I've had my eye on these for some time now, I only have two hangups:
1. Convincing the wife we need one (currently have a 99 hallmark ute).
2. The majority of our camping will be around home (Eastern...
You would probably get $2500 if it had a new axle under it. I wouldn't pay close to that knowing I had to replace it straight out of the gate. Other than that looks like a well built trailer to me.
That's always going to be 100% personal preference. If I could only choose between those to options, it would be super crew with 5.5 ft bed, the people that travel with me would thank me.
I have a super crew with 6.5ft bed though, best option out there IMO.
My buddy has a 2012 with 5.0 and 5.5 bed with 36 gallon tank.
I also have a topper but will probably ditch it since I have a truck camper now. I, personally, would rather have a topper than rack. Keep things locked up safe and dry, can also be another place to sleep.
I had spacers on a...
2013 FX4 EcoBoost with Max tow package here. So far it’s been a good truck. Bilsteins on the front, 17s with 285/75s on them. Need to install the add a leaf and Bilsteins in the rear.

Agreed, it is a little lower than I would like. I emailed them with some questions and was actually told they are working on one that is a complete system with a 2900BTU cooling capacity, which I think would be plenty.
Thankfully I am not and will not be camping in Death Valley, especially at...
Has anyone used or installed on of these Rigid HVAC Micro DC AirCon (micro dc air conditioner)? https://www.rigidchill.com/micro-dc-aircon/#
I'm purchasing an older Hallmark Ute, and a requirement for camping in Nebraska in the summer is AC. Rooftop air is out, don't care for the added height...
You can output dxf files with Fusion 360, among many other filetypes used by manufacturers/fab shops.
If you know what you are doing, you can even use the FEA to determine what you need structurally. I cut a good amount of weight of my camper design by using FEA tools in Fusion.
