All you need is a roll of Duct Tape!

The rear bumper on my old D1 was held on mostly with duct tape... never underestimate its powers...:ylsmoke:

    Diesel options/sources? 109 Hybrid

Talk to Mark P (aka landiman) over on lrrforums.com. He recently imported a few diesels and can tell you the ins and outs of importing. Mark can also guide you in regards to installation. Where abouts do you live? Perhaps a jaunt over to see some of his projects is possible. Also, Eric...

    GT Radial - Adventuro MT

Right now I have about 15,000 miles on them and they still look good. I would expect another 10,000 at least. The rangie is a daily driver, averaging about 300 miles per week. I think I paid $112 mounted and balanced for each 235. I probably could have gotten a better deal but I always go to...

    GT Radial - Adventuro MT

I run the GT Radials and love them. A little loud on the freeway but I run them on both my rovers - 285/75 on the rangie and 235/85 on the 109. Handle great off road - rocks and mud. A good all around tire. Dang, it won't let me upload a pic right now...

Anyone here in CA with an imported 1985 or older Diesel Defender?

Although I cannot say anything about the TD5, I can attest to the 200 and 300TDi's. I have been researching what to put into my Series III. I considered a 300TDi but with a family of 7 and most likely pulling a small trailer for gear, I considered the diesel motors to be too slow for American...

Anyone here in CA with an imported 1985 or older Diesel Defender?

Have you ever driven a diesel in a Defender? The idea sounds sexy but it isn't all it is cracked up to be. If you really want to go this route, why not get a pre-smog series truck?

Put the TP in the freezer: The Hot Sauce Thread

Try mixing a high quality bloody mary sauce with your favorite hot sauce. It really adds a nice flavor. I forgot the name of the stuff I use but I will go get some more on Monday and report back with the name. Most of the hot stuff has too much of a vinegar taste to it. I like the Frank's...

    Please vote on my photos

4 & 5 could be postcards. Nice. I like #4 the best. I'd like to be sitting there right now with a good cigar and a vodka & cranberry.

    Parabolics on a 1980 Series 3 109

Point taken but it is my understanding that the parabolics will take away some of the stiffness, i.e., increase leaning in turning situations on the road. We have a family of 7 so the rover is usually packed, let alone we take anything along with us. "Rebuilding" the originals just might give...

    Parabolics on a 1980 Series 3 109

Is it possible to have the original leafs "rebuilt"? If so, who would be able to do it?

    One huge MONSTER!!

I wish I had the fab skills to build something like that. Not really what I need but I would build it just so my kids would like riding in it.

    California State Park Closures

Again, that leaves us, as taxpayers, open to lawsuits. I think your idea is excellent but we just need to find a way - that will hold up in court - to have visitors use it at their own risk. Another note: this whole "saving it for future generations" thing, what about the current generation...

    California State Park Closures

My b-n-l works for the state park system. Believe it or not, there is a ton of work that goes into maintaining a park, big or small. Most of the work is to keep the public safe. It is a liability issue. Either spend the money doing the work ahead of time or spend the money losing to...
