ThinairAthlete will probably provide a definitive reply soon, but I’m pretty sure this truck has a stock Fuso limited slip rear differential and either a torsen-style or open front differential. We’ve had two EarthCruisers - our first had the LSD rear and open front and our current has the LSD...
I’m curious about the rationale behind assuming E-Bikes should be allowed wherever bicycles are allowed.
Is it because they have the potential of being partially powered by the rider? If that is the case, should a traditional moped with an internal combustion engine be allowed in the same...
I use an iPad Pro 12.9 3rd generation with a terrabyte of memory. After trying many versions of different applications on Android and fewer on IOS, I’ve settled on an Gaia GPS. I have the western US covered completely with the following layers and zoom levels. Note that on IOS Gaia has many...
We have a crawl through and like it a lot. Our desire to have one in our vehicle had absolutely nothing to do with "...escaping a dangerous situation...". We wanted the cab to be part of the living space, allow our dog to move between the house and cab when travelling, and allow moving between...
Hello Wendell:
I have no problem using the website to view maps, my synchronized tracks, routes, and waypoints. I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell laptop that is at least 5 years old and I use an updated version of Chrome as my browser. I have a Premium subscription to Gaia. My mobile devices...
Hello Alan:
Do you have a distributor in the US who’d have a set of the 17” alloys? Otherwise, any idea how much to ship from Australia?
Thanks,
Howard
There is not a single answer. In our experience with about 180 gb of downloaded maps, our Android tablet frequently choked and required downloading all over again. However, that was with micro sd card storage not resident storage.
We looked into the issue and hypothesized that resident memory...
Do you navigate solo all of the time, or do you sometimes have a passenger / partner navigating as you drive? If the latter (which is our case) we removed the fixed Ipad mount in favor of a small stand / keyboard option. We have a centrally located USB charging port, so the Ipad can reach the...
Yes, Alloy is correct. Fuso recommends you use tire chains on only one axle of a 4x4 (at least that’s what I recall from the owner’s manual of our 2014 and 2017 FGs). On our two trucks I messed about a bit and convinced myself that running them on the front could be a mess the wheels were...
In addition to the thickness of the slab, the psi capacity of the concrete ought to be considered. For a shop I'd go with a minimum of 3,000 psi. Under perfect conditions with well compacted and prepared material below the slab, a 4" slab might suffice. I've never seen those perfect...
I see why the Rivet Nut would be problematic, Mickey's suggestion of well nuts might work although the issue with drilling into the hull could remain? Before removing the existing threads you might try getting a 1/4 x 20 tap (pretty cheap at most hardware stores) and cleaning up the stripped...
Not sure about the inserts you mention as the hull of a kayak is pretty thin. My favorite way to get threads into a composite or thin plastic component is a rivet nut designed for plastic.
Not cheap, but I've found they hold well as long as you use the proper insertion tool.

As Aussie Iron suggested - try contacting EarthCruiser USA. They use a similar, but not the same, nut on their Fuso FG based trucks with aluminum rims. Otherwise you could try mounting the inner nuts of a Bud nut dually on the studs. Then mount the wheels. Then use the outer nuts of the...
What happened to the Lefty? I love those "forks". I guess we ought to call them "awls." The only word I can think of for a "fork" with a single tine....

Hello Plumb Bob:
I don't think there is anything realistic you can do about the lack of HP. Our 2017 (EarthCruiser EXP) can approach 13,000 lbs fully loaded with fuel, water & back country toys. At that mass we find 60 - 65 sustainable all day on the interstate (which we usually avoid). If...
Hello HSL:
I think the GLo 2 is simply a GPS receiver. Thus it provides your iPad Air 2 with latitude & longitude coordinates so that the device knows where it is. I'm more familiar with the Android / Windows world than the Apple universe, so the following may not apply to your devices...
Hey All:
Replacement is complete, truck started in 5 seconds after bleeding and drove 176 miles home without a hiccup! Thanks for everyone's help you all made it a lot easier. Will provide more details and some images after a bit of decompression. Basically a one-handed job with some...
