Truck is young. Our fuel pump problem is an absolute fluke that will soon be history! In my experience with taking vessels & vehicles into even moderately remote situations you occasionally deal with things that would be trivial if you stayed at marinas or on pavement but because you're out of...
Pump is easy to hear when it runs and is now silent. It was excessively noisy for a week prior to apparent failure. Several diagnostic codes report fuel pressure is lacking and due to the field situation I'll try the relatively inexpensive option of the low pressure pump first! If it is not...
Those photos are great, thanks again. I'm printing them to take back to the truck with me tomorrow. Managed to order a pump and am having it shipped to a friend's house about 50 miles from the truck. I'll be in our Tacoma with tools etc. to drop or move the tank and 35 gallons of empty NATO...
Hello Plumb Bob:
Thanks! Extremely helpful. I really appreciate your effort. Looking at your photo it appears that the "sheet metal" holding the filter body could indeed be loosened but not freed and the pump slid out once all connections removed and the two vertical bolts (not in the photo)...
Hello Folks:
Heidi and I need to do a field replacement of the low pressure fuel pump (located above the fuel tank) on Prima Terra II. Heidi is with the truck out in the backcountry and I'm in civilization sourcing a new pump without access to the truck, and when at the truck access to the...
If you go with poly tanks, consider a "welded" in metal insert threaded to accept your drain plug. It's pretty easy to foul threads in plastic materials if one even slightly over tightens a bung. If you have the space you could also consider a low profile valve for your drain plug and avoid...
We have used the Froli system with foam mattress in three platforms: Maggiolina sleep box, Neon tent trailer, and our first EarthCruiser. We love the comfort and air circulation under the mattress. We'll eventually install it in the 2nd EarthCruiser but we need to work out access to the...
I agree with Verkstad - high alloy shackles are great when you desire the highest capacity for the lightest weight or, in your case the smallest pin. This Skookum shackle might fit your needs. Be prepared - they are not inexpensive.

Lucilius:
I suspect someone from EarthCruiser will jump in with more information, but in the meantime here's what I learned from some recent chats with Lance:
1. EarthCruiser may be able to add a third seat to the cab (would go between the regular two seats).
2. EarthCruiser may be able to...
Hello Beowulf:
I haven't obtained any Samson 12 yet, but it's still a plan. I agree that it ought to splice as Amsteel Blue. However, Samson recommends a modified tuck bury splice for Saturn 12. I'm guessing that is because the tuk bury splice uses less line. However, it is a lot more...
Hello Waveslider:
Thanks for the reply & questions. I'm scrambling with getting a house on the market so I haven't taken the time for a thoughtful reply (I'd like to provide some positive examples of TMPs that allow open tracks to decay, etc.). I'll get there soon, but I don't want to appear...
I think the article was originally published in 2012, thus the trip was probably earlier. I just finished 1,650 miles in 75 hours in one of the early Australian EarthCruisers (I think it was a 2010) - a great drive, handled rough & smooth paved roads (ours was a delivery trip) well. Definitely...
Hello Christian:
I don't think the thread should be closed. However, I do think we all could do a better job of discussing the issues, ideas, and potential solutions relevant to the original question "Is Mountain Biking the Biggest Threat to New Wilderness Designations?" Getting someone who...
One account that might cause pause in using the Brummel lock. Apparently the Brummel lock might have reduced the overall strength of the splice and allowed the eye to open. The conclusion was that lock stitching with a long bury is more secure. Those boats have incredible loads on the...
I've not had that problem our Fuso, but several of our toyota trucks with limited slip would work better when applying a little brake if one drive wheel was off the ground, that might have simulated the "some wheel grip" you mention.
