Efficacy of Sealant & Tubeless Tires

Hello Dave: I'm interested to hear why you changed to Orange Seal? I'm always looking for reasons to try something different. Howard

Efficacy of Sealant & Tubeless Tires

Fellow Bike Ramblers: Just for fun I spent 20 minutes this evening reviewing punctures in the rear tire (27.5 x 3" Rocket Ron) of my Salsa Mukluk as I added some more sealant. Here in New Mexico we have our share of spiked flora - Goatheads, Russian Olive thorns, Mesquite spikes, prickly pear...

    Baja Divide

That's an understatement! Thanks for the link - if any family can pull off run of the Baja Divide with trail-a-bikes it would be these folks. My experience with Schwalbe's Rocket Rons is with the "Snakeskin" version. I've found them to be great, durable tires for bikepacking & general riding...

    Baja Divide

Schwalbe Rocket Ron's I'd run Schwalbe Rocket Rons in 3". Set up tubeless with Caffelatex sealant. However, I'm curious about tackling the Baja Divide with kid(s) on trail-a-bikes. Is that a trail-a-bike behind the main bike and then a trail-a-bike behind that? Do you know if your friend...

Status of SRW conversions for Fuso's in the US?

Consider Mass-Rating of Tires As Well As I've mentioned before, Heidi and I are happy with the six aluminum rims we acquired from EarthCruiser several years ago when we purchased Prima Terra our EarthCruiser EXP. Just for the record, I also have two friends who each placed 19.5" steel rims on...

The ExPo Mountain Bike Photo Thread

Thanks! Great point about the gearing - I hadn't considered that. We wander in an EarthCruiser for several months at a time and I'm fiddling with the bikes to take along. Right now it looks like I'll take the Mukluk with 27.5+ and a Cutthroat with 29 x 2. Cutthroat is a wonderful Forest Road...

The ExPo Mountain Bike Photo Thread

Hello Christophe: I'm vacillating between 27.5+ and 29+ as a second wheel set for my 2017 carbon Mukluk. Looking to wander remote desert country and want something more agile that the 26 x 4.0 Jumbo Jims I'm running now (will keep JJs for winter and really sandy stuff). Any thoughts on 27.5+...

Add Extended Filler Neck To DEF Tank?

Hello Brandon: As others have said, "Congratulations & Welcome." Personally, I wouldn't extend the filler across the width of the truck. I see a couple of potential problems: 1. If your driver's side fill isn't considerably higher than the OEM filler on the DEF tank (see #2) you could have...

    Going out Solo, Recovery options.

Be careful using those marine flares in a terrestrial situation. The ones I've had for our boat burn well past contact with the surface. In the ocean that's not problem since the water extinguishes them. In many terrestrial situations it could be a wild fire waiting to happen. Howard

Packraft - Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area

Just returned from a packraft trip through the Gila Box Riparian NCA with my Wilderness Biology class. River is fast, but manageable (800 - 850 cfs), lots of flowers, & great weather. We left our vehicles at the Dry Canyon Take Out Area, got a shuttle from Cesar (928 348-7977) to Owl Creek...

    Fuso SRW options

Happy With EC/Alexrims/Alan's Wheels Well, since "Skippythedog" asked.... No problems with our 6 EC/Alan/Alexrims 16" alloy rims after 33,000 miles and on our 2nd set of tires. They balance fine, run well, mount smoothly, Heidi can change one by herself (don't challenge her to an arm...

Who do you use for insurance? (in the states)

State Farm We use State Farm. Our EarthCruiser is registered in New Mexico as an RV so that could help. We're insured for replacement value with a $2,000 deductible for less than your amount. However, I've heard that other State Farm offices aren't interested in insuring similar vehicles so...

    Fuso 3.0 , Duonic transmission, SCR ?

I'm Happy With Ours All I can say (again) is that Heidi and I are happy with our 2014 US FG & Duonic after some 30,000 + miles & a lot of great country. We've had absolutely 0 mechanical issues with the transmission. We have had 0 issues with the DPF system. However, we've had more issues...

    2014 Fuso FG New Shocks?

Our Radflos Work Well I noted up thread that some were having problems with RadFlo/EC shocks. We mounted ours back in May and have run them through the summer without any problems and we're very happy with them. I have seen one set on another truck that leaked in front, and I suspect the...

Adventures of "Sally Ross" Fuso Camper by Phoenix Pop Up Campers PHXFG

Single Options If you decide to the Super Singles route, and you decide to run 16" wheels, the price of the rim stays about the same ($500 to $550, I think for the alloy wheels through EarthCruiser - but check with them directly) but the tires are less expensive. We've just worn out a set of...
