    Overland Expo West Roll Call

Prima Terra Hello Alan: Heidi and I will be there with Prima Terra. This will be her third year - I think she knows the way. Do you have any plans afterwards? Several EarthCruisers are meeting up 23 May for some frolicking. Would be fun to have you join us. Send me PM if interested. Howard

16" or 19.5" wheels and tires?

I'm pretty sure that Pugslyyy is correct in terms of driving the vehicle. However, I have heard that some insurance companies may resist paying claims (including liability) if the vehicle was over the GVW. It could be worth checking with your carrier in that regard. Howard

    New to climbing nedd advice

Wildland: Are you drawn to climbing as another physical activity to keep you and your wife fit and entertained? If that's the case then the gym route can work well. If you're drawn to climbing because you love mountains and crave knowing them better, some of the habits you might pick up in a...

Adventures of "Sally Ross" Fuso Camper by Phoenix Pop Up Campers PHXFG

Sand was easy - but there'd been some rain recently so it was pretty firm. We didn't drop the pressure in the tires and had no problems. Since that trip we've gained more experience with the FG and sand. When loaded we're between 12,000 and 13,000 pounds and we ususally drop the tires to 30 -...

Adventures of "Sally Ross" Fuso Camper by Phoenix Pop Up Campers PHXFG

Happy with our pass through Hello Butch: Congratulations on your truck. We've had an EarthCruiser for nearly two years and we're very happy with the Fuso FG platform and (dare I admit it here?) the 6 speed Duonic transmission as well as our pass through. For us the main advantage of the pass...

Solo Grand Canyon Packraft/backpack Trip - Launch Tomorrow!

Hello Kerry: Trip was great although I shortened it by exiting to the north quite a ways before Hance Rapids - hope to post details soon, we're still on the road. Did stay warm, but packrafts are only considered dry in comparison to submarines! Howard

Solo Grand Canyon Packraft/backpack Trip - Launch Tomorrow!

Expo Water Colleagues: At Lee's Ferry & just realized we have cell coverage. So here's an update: Completed equipment check this afternoon & all permits in hand so will launch tomorrow after the orientation. Winter season so only one party launches per day, no comercial trips, and no motors...

    FG's in Action

I guess you could start a different thread that explicitly excluded EarthCruisers if you wanted? Maybe call it "Almost Any FG in Action - But Not EarthCruisers"? I'm not sure I understand why folks that want to post shots of their EarthCruisers should be excluded from this thread, but I drive...

    EarthCruiser Overland Vehicles

I'm with Frank on this one. Keep up the great work. The opportunities your products have provided for Heidi and I are the best thing that's happened for us since we left sailing to start adventuring "on the hard." Howard Snell Prima Terra

Can anyone use 1-1/4 and/or 1-1/2 inch nylon tube webbing?

Hello Flyfishermen: I'll take 100 feet of the 1.25, but I don't need any of the 2" (I already have quite a bit of 2"). Thanks, Howard

Can anyone use 1-1/4 and/or 1-1/2 inch nylon tube webbing?

Hello Flyfishermen: If possible I'd prefer an orange that was a bit muted - in other words not a neon orange. However, as I mentioned in a PM - you're doing the heavy lifting in this project so the final decision is yours! I'll still take 100' of each size regardless of color. Howard

Small swing snatch blocks for 1/8" line?

CMC Rescue Pulleys? High quality stuff - maybe less expensive than the sailing stuff (look around the site for cheaper variations) http://www.cmcrescue.com/c/pulleys/ Howard

    Denali Llama - First Paddle

Aire Backraft Pack Raft Colleagues: Bad Luck asked about the Aire Backraft packrafts a bit upthread. Last weekend I completed a Packraft-specific Swiftwater Rescue Course with Scott Solles (great course by the way). Scott had several different demo packrafts at the course and the Aire...

    Diving in Head First!

Southern Utah Hey Allan: Heidi and I will be in the Moab/SE Utah area with Prima Terra around 3 - 11 October. Let me know if you'd like to try and meet up. Howard

Fuso FG ABS lights on both 2004 and 2007...like magic!

Hello Dave: Ours is a 2014 FG, so everything could be completely different. However, we have occasionally had the ABS indicator light up. It has cleared itself and gone out within 20 miles or 1/2 an hour each time. Have you tried driving them around to see if the lights will clear? Howard

    Denali Llama - First Paddle

Hello b luck: I notice you're in Moab? That's fantastic country for a packraft. One of my Grand Canyon trip-to-be colleagues and I hope to run West Water in October with two Alpackas (permit is in hand). I was just through there on Sunday via paddle raft and at the current water levels it...
