Just curious, why did you want to add all that? I reread the thread to see if I missed the relevant point, and still didn't find it.

    Lesson's Learned

We've all been there one way or another! My packing motto is "I'll throw this in so that I won't need it". I only tend to need the one thing i didn't bring, so if i bring it, I won't need to use it. It was funny about the one rig for the two of you comment. My buddies and I all laugh...

    Pop top installation cost?

My GTRV bed has two different options on folding out of the way. It is built in a front half and a rear half. The rear half is stationary over the back few feet of the van. The front half either sits in the frame rails when down in sleeping position, or 1) is snapped to the roof and rises up...

    Rhino 4x4??

We're finally getting married. Our best friend is going to perform the ceremony, which will be held on a 20x20 deck, that sits at the end of a relatively short, up hill trail . The deck sits above the bank of a creek, in the forest, next to a lake, in northwest Washington. The creek flows...

Hi new to site: chevy avalanche questio

Interesting thread. I can see the appeal of utilizing the Avalanche. I'd start with a used (read "cheaper") Snug top and a used RTT, then cut a big ole trap door from the Snug thru to the RTT. That way you can utilize the thru way of the Avalanche wich is the whole advantage.

Where are all the syncro people??

nice read, JF Thanks for the reply. Yeah, its tough to find that ultimate 4x4 van, you want bits and peices of a few different schools of thought that don't necessarily fit together. The pop top find was awesome, way to go. Looking forward to checking it out. TL

Didn't see the call for that statement except for the fact that you Canadians are funny about Americans. Great thread, appreciate the info as my Fiancee has never felt threatenend in the back country until a recent experience and now we too have been thinking about packing. I've previously...

A guy over at Samba.com says he works for Buffett and this is one of his rigs too, and he still has it. I see a pattern.

A very nice built FWC on Ford super duty.

That set up is drop dead gorgeous. With some of the earlier questions raised regarding such a big truck, I was thinking that it is probably a different way to go about accomplishing what a Sportsmobile accomplishes, and probably a bit easier to drive off road with the lower COG. It would...

    Problems!

Seattle to Portland? Didn't know you were in Washington. Where did you enter Wa, thru the Peace Arch Crossing or the Truck Crossing, or Lynden. If any of the above, you drove right by my house in Bellingham. I'm a mile from I-5 but can see it in my view. Happy travels and good luck.
