What are the BEST pop-up campers???

Regretfully putting my Quicksilver 10.0 up for sale in the NW corner of the state. FWIW if anyone is looking at quicksilvers make sure you don't buy new unless they are a couple of years ago. The last production run was a disaster.

Extending distance between tow vehicle and trailer

OP I just blew up your original photo to get a better look at your setup. Are the bikes set so far back from the truck on purpose so you can open the hatch on the topper? I just made a combo bike rack/trailer hitch that is a much cleaner and simpler design than you are using. If you want...

    WWII spen trailer

With 12 inch brakes and a trailer so light are you able to adjust the controller down enough so the wheels are not locking up when braking with the trailer empty?

    ?

Longer axle will just have a longer cantilever from where the spring attaches, it would probably be marginally more stable with very stiff springs and a very heavy axle but I agree with the analysis to cut the axle and tongue off and mount it on a much stronger and wider frame. You coule...

    120 to 12 Converter

I have an Engel Md14F and sometimes it is easiest for me to run it off a 120v generator. I had been using an old Coleman branded one which caused radio static and it finally died. I actually have 2 of those Fridges and would like to get a converter big enough to run them both. I need to buy...

    Square Tubing Size Question

I would have used thinner tubing, 1 or 2 sizes smaller

    fastening to aluminum square tubing

You will get more useful answers if you specify the specs of the tubing, what you are fastening to it, and the length of overlap of the materials.

Enclosed off road Trailer to fit a Dirt Bike

My .02 is to buy a standard enclosed trailer in the size you need and have it speced with a 3500lb straight axle. I am sure if you order a trailer you can also specify the springs be over the axle rather than under. This should give you increased ground clearance and room for larger tires. In...

    Overland Trailer - Lowe’s 3x5 Carry On - Kevin

This is probably the motto of everyone who starts a build with one of these cheap trailers no matter if they will admit it or not. I cringe every time I see one of these used as a base.

    Need suspension help!! 01 suburban

Aside from being able to compensate for different sized loads you can use airbags to lift the vehicle a bit to clear obstacles that otherwise may hang you up

Rear Winch wiring using jumper cables; what am I missing?

Used cables are taken out of service for a reason. They lead a rough life, they are exposed to chemicals, run over by vehicles, the insulation get cut, the strands get corrosion from the cuts. I see how those cables are treated in the field and would not recommend using them unless they are...

Rear Winch wiring using jumper cables; what am I missing?

I wouldn't trust the insulation on jumper cables to hold up to being out in the elements and a lot of jumper cable wire diameter is not up to what is advertised on the package. I would use welding cable, it is very flexible and the insulation is very robust

    spring rate vs trailer weight?

I agree 100 percent with the 2 posts above. If you want to stick with the stock hangers just play with removing different leafs but if you want the best ride go with some form of YJ leafs, even consider stock height

Frame and Body Together or Separate?

The most compact and lightest way to build it is in one piece. If you don't mind heavier and taller by a few inches then body on frame has many advantages

    Novice Trailer Build

I didn't notice this before but your axle/suspension is really boogered up. You have what apears to be a 4 inch dropped axle and then super long shackles to raise it back up. I would recommend buying a new straight axle with brakes and then shorten up the shackles

Anybody using smaller paintball tanks as onboard air?

Where would you store this tank? If inside the vehicle than I would think it would be fine even if the tank is long out of date. They are designed for 2k to 4k and you would be getting to maybe 150psi. If i was wanted a air tank in my Suburban I would be looking to put it under the body and...

    120V plug's

That Ford plug is rated for 150 watts which is next to nothing. The other is rated for 15 amps which would probably cover any load . How many watts or amps do you have available?

What kind of weight capacity does a M416 trailer capable of?

Those trailers are very overbuilt and rugged. I wouldn't hesitate to put 2500lbs in it providing my tow rig had enough brakes. I regularly haul 2200lbs in a home made trailer that isn't nearly as strong as that. You have a real project in front of you, lots of unusual mods to undo on yours. I...
