I agree with you - just slapping it on the dash or steering column with some Velcro looks cheesy. My goal was to have the Scan Gauge (SG) look like it belonged. Here's what I did... My SG has been mounted on the steering wheel pod. The plastic shroud is in 2 pieces; I cut the upper piece to...
I don't mean to hurt your feelings but that style looks tacky and would most likely be seen on a vehicle that ventured no further than a National Park parking lot or a blingy rally car.
Trucks that are wheeled off-road will see terrain that will often detach mud flaps.
That said, some state...
This must be incredibly frustrating for you... it is for me just reading about your plight. I've had an Optima red top since 2009, and a yellow top added to my installed IBS DBS since 2010 and I haven't had any problems with either battery and I run the standard off-road accessories, fridge I...
My 2001 Tacoma is similar inside. I use the same model CB and have a similar good experience. The box is mounted in the console and the mike cable runs along the passenger side shift console, exiting next to the forward retention screw; the cable is secured to the screw with a nylon cable...

[molar suck] Gee, I don't know... do you think there's anyone in Prescott, AZ that might be involved with the ExPo community who could help this guy out?
I don't know how complicated an install on an H3 is, but for a Toyota Land Cruiser, FJC, or Tacoma a skilled off-road shop could easily do it within 1 hour, maybe 2. Let's assume shop labor is $75 to $100 per hour.
Charging you $500 sounds like a rip-off to me. Unless it's being done by 4...
