Ha ha ya seriously. I'll get one soon. Just picture what the stock exhaust would look like for a v10, and then picture the rear drivers side cat removed and the pipe bent more up and that's what it looks like.
Definitely what I want to do but for the sake of others and their DIY 4x4 kits I am trying to figure out how to go about it correctly. Does everyone with a 4x4 van that has a DIY kit find the shadiest part of town to get their exhaust done?
I have a 6.8l v10 and my exhaust is most definitely in the way. But it has also been re routed from original when it was an "advanced" 4x4 (1979 f250 Dana 44) and now it's an "MG" 4x4 (2013 f250 Dana 60)
I am assuming that your vanagon is a manual because I didn't see anything that said otherwise but I only read the first and last page. Will the kit your putting together work for an automatic vanagon?
Thanks and I really like what your doing!
This is a question for all of my DIY 4x4 e-series owners. How did you route your exhaust to be able to put your driveline in and who did the work? Was it a local shop or a friend etc?
I recently had an issue with an exhaust shop not wanting to touch my exhaust because of "federal laws" and...
The van looks great! Not sure if it matters or not but there is a new 2015 Front axle assembly with 4.30s for 1430 here in Portland, OR LKQ. But I am pretty sure your looking for a rear not a front...
I am another vote for either the high top or the pop top over the transit/sprinter. If you end up hating it I guarantee someone else on here that's been following you wouldn't mind taking it off your hands and will glad you put either one of those on.
Ha ha ya, there's always a better one for cheaper somewhere. If I wasn't married I'd probably own 3 different vans for 3 different reasons. Gotta have the DD 2wd EB for hauling around town, the Ujoint RB for hardcore offroad, the 4wd MG EB for longer camping trips...
It's funny you guys are having compressor issues. I had my AC go out and had a new compressor go in, sure enough a month later it blows so I got everything pulled and replaced and now it's perfect but water drips from it like crazy. The front and back.
Sort of parts, sort of not, definitely van.
This 2010 blue 5.4 cargo van is for sale in Seattle for 7800$. It seems to have something going on with the engine. Fortunately I know a guy that has a newer (23k miles) engine as well as a full quadvan kit ready to make this van 4x4. If someone...
I said we could and like my mom always told me, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Ha ha, besides I'm in the camp of having some thing and not needing it is better than needing it and not having it. Be Prepared.
Thats a good idea! I never thought about using that and see it every time I go in. I just threw some stall mats down in my van for the ease of washing and what not.
I wasn't trying to be a jerk, I am always hoping the rating will go higher and was hoping some new info came out that I didnt see. I think its funny the 150/250 will tow heavier than the 350. If that doesn't confuse you then I dont know what will!
