If all goes as planned for me I'll be leaving San Antonio around 4:30am and get to BB around 1pm or so. Barring any problems. Well, after looking at that, I might push that back to 5:30 or six. That's just awefully early to be on the road with the suicide deer around here and in the Hill Country.
I can't see the pic here at school but it sounds like Carlton McMillan's. He operates XOC now. Very nice rig and very nice guy. Professional photographer, he used to live in Texas and I believe he's now up in Minnesota. He gets some professional support from Nissan Corp from time to time.
I'm going to talk to my principal and verify that I can get those days off. I have time saved and have many projects the students can work on without my input. Shouldn't be a problem. I'll know by the end of school tomorrow unless something comes unravelled tomorrow and occupies all my...
I was in the same boat...scroll down...scroll up...scroll down...oh, wait, the vehicles...
The cruiser is pretty sweet but I've always liked the lifted XJ look.:safari-rig:
Either way is fine. BTW, if you want I might be able to see if any of the computer teachers here at school could do something with it. Interested?
Okay where in the Sonoran Desert are you?
So Scott since you're kinda putting this together do you have any sort of path in mind? I too have heard that the Basin is a great place. I've been warned about 40mph or less. Park service is pretty tight on that.
I'm gonna talk to my principal and see if I can get those two weekdays off. If he says yes, the heck yes I'm in. Handbrake gave the thumbsup! That's of course balanced on how baby is doing. She's down with croup and congestion right now. Keeping fingers crossed!
Scott, welcome to the forum! Depending on where you are in LA, there's always Barnwell Mountain close to Gilmer in northeast Texas. And General Sam's just outside of Huntsville. I've heard some good things about GS, but Barnwell is truly awesome for wheeling.
Okay guys...are we meeting on Thursday then going out or meeting Wednesday and then going out? I can't take three days off and need to get an idea. I'm dying to go but not sure if I can take off from school that long.
Wow! I'm from Russellville! Been to Whataburger several times.
Yep, MANY years ago some friends and I took a lil road trip into that area. There are dirt roads that'll offer some beautiful scenery!
OKay here's a question...going bush on the first? Or meet up the night of the first? It's about a day's drive from San Antonio and taking three straight days off as a teacher is difficult.
