Okay I'm 36 and could be in better shape. My dad is over 60 and in decent shape as well. We'll probably hike with you guys for a bit but if the going gets tough we can always go back.
BTW, talked with a coworker today and he HIGHLY recommends getting smell-proof containers. There are bears...
Wow that's pretty bad. We're running around 2.13 per.
I asked this earlier and didn't see a response...do we need to call for reservations individually or has that been taken care of already? Also since I'm going in through PJ, I guess I get my permits through the office there.
Yeah, I won't be hooking up with you guys until Loop Camp Road. Don't know how much hiking I'll do - bad knees that need some exercise. Dad told me there is gas in the Village but expect prices to be around 2.50 or more per gallon.
Yeah, I've been looking for ya but the closest I've seen is in AZ. Could always buy an ex-military unit and custom build yourself one. I have seriously considered it but just don't have the right tools.
Round I was told that it's about a 8.5 hour drive from SA that's why we're leaving early.
Wil, he's not normally a Trailer King but I can't do 65+ in my rig very easily. At least not without having to stop for fuel every 200 miles or so. Strange that the F250 will get better mpg TOWING a...
Hey Round, my dad and I should be getting to Panther Junction around 1ish in the afternoon on Thursday. Then we'll proly head to the Village and drop off either the just the tow rig or a fifth wheel and the tow rig. I'm planning on then driving over to Loop Camp. As we get closer to the date...
Oh heck yes!
Dad was gonna take the trailer down to the Village, not the basin. Just for clarification. I didn't know and asked him if he was gonna take it to the Basin last night and he flat out told me heck no.
Just four vehicles?! Aw come on guys!
BTW, I invited three Xterra's to...
That's my rig's name. Main body is white with black trim. Plus I have always thought the Stormtroopers from Star Wars were just he baddest looking suits of armour around.
BTW, do we need make reservations? What's our rig count?
Scott did you notice this...
Hey JPFreak, that's a good read. Sounds like an adventure for sure. The more I talk with my dad and you guys about this be more excited we get(dad and I).
The temperature is making me cautious...long johns, warm clothes, light parka, heavy sleeping bag, and blankets. Am I missing anything?
Okay got to looking at the GE track. Thanks BTW, Scott. That has really helped in my planning. We're waiting on some loose ends but it looks like my dad might bring out the F350 pulling a 35' fifth wheel and I'll bring the F250 pulling my trailered Stormtrooper. He'll stay at the Village...
:clapsmile :clapsmile :clapsmile
Just got approval! I'm officially in barring bad weather or illness.
I've started my list...Ranch Style Beans...Chili...Sandwiches...Beer...and the usual amount of snacks.
BTW, my dad has expressed interest so he's a very probable and my bro-in-law is a...
BTW, not that it's important but I might have a navigator coming with me. I asked my brother-in-law last night. He's a maybe right now but will let me know within the next week or two.
Wil I'm not sure what the plans are but I won't be to BB until 1pm or so. I figure that even if we miss them they will be within reach by the time I get the truck unloaded and down the trail.
