Tyres should last 30-35k depending on use and what kind they are. I usually get about 40 out of brake discs, they usually warp before they wear out. Brake pads should get 20 or so, but I have EPC yellow stuff which do wear out quicker than factory stuff. ball joints and arms... again depends on...

Mine is still alive and well at 200,394 miles. replaced a few more bits due to wear and tear. But it’s still going strong and has plenty more life in it. Like everything, look after it and it will look after you. I’m hoping for 250 out of it before it get semi retired by a New Defender.

Nope. I adjust the shoes at the back wheel area. If they are set correctly then you never need to touch the module in anything other than failure of the module. I’ve seen the internal gears break a couple of times but tbh, that’s a 0.00001% failure. bodsy brake bible is best guide for it...

Why not fix it? Most likely it’s never been cleaned and adjusted correctly hence it failed. Refit shoes and missing bits and get it set up correctly and it will be fine. my epb is 15 years old, stripped, cleaned and adjusted annually and works perfectly fine.

Since today is it’s 15th birthday. Treated “Huey” to a full valet. Came up not bad for 200,091 miles on it.

The old defender was offered as hard top and pick up right to the end. Very last one was a 90 soft top. During the full model life, from 83 to 16, very little body wise changed. Seat boxes need a little tweak depending on model and fuel tank location but wings, bonnet, screen, doors, roof etc...

I’m sure a set of Compomotives or similar can be fitted. They fit on the D5s so should be in this. I specced my 110 with 18s but then it was the D240 model.

Does look good. My only change would be to drop the 20s and stick 18s on with chunky tyres.

Not much bar the daily commute for this. still enjoying the heated steering wheel and seats. Needs the glow plugs changed, not brave enough to get them done yet.

I have spoke to my mate who works at land rover about that seat. That car is a pre job 1 model and not the final materials. Has agreed it shouldn’t be going round the dealers though so I would expect that seat to get sorted.

Out of interest. how many of you have actually sat in, and driven the old defender?

It will be to do with the air suspension. yeah, I’ll be going for black leather for mine.
