That´s a 42" LED bar from Vision-X. It´s similar to http://www.visionxusa.com/LED-Evo_Prime-42%22_Evo_Prime/c1_109_157/p642/42%22_EVO_PRIME_%7C_20_DEGREE_NARROW/product_info.html but it´s custom built, so the outer 4 LEDs on every side have a "flood" type beam pattern whereas the inner 18 LEDs...

    Best camp meal?

Carnivores Camping Meal: Starter: Salsiccia, an italian sausage with fennel in it or Merguez, a french sausage with red hot pepper paste in it. Some stuffed olives and baguette with that. Main course: A not too small horse steak, accompanied by some couscous with dates in it. Ice cold Heineken...

The trail rig sits on it´s "new" axles (D30 HP and Ford 8.8), has been lifted, yadda yadda, no pics yet, because the shop did it while I was away. Hope to have it ready for the "Abenteuer Allrad" fair by end of July. The new LED bar has been mounted under the Hannibal roof rack where it´s...

The daily driver got a chrome fascia from a ´00-´01 XJ Limited, some maintenance and a LPG conversion with a 160l tank in the trunk. No pics of the LPG yet, but buying fuel for half the price is cool!

Brand New To Me 1990 XJ (build and Question thread)

Congratulations for your find! I had a ´90 XJ as well and loved it. I´d buy a new radiator, new hoses and convert it to the new cooling system. AFAIK it has more cooling capacity. The 4.0 is a quite hot running engine and the stock cooling system is quite marginal, especially when the vehicle...

    Blue Sea Fuse Blocks

I used to run this thing in my blue XJ, it really cleaned up the electrical installation. Now I´ve got a second one for my new XJ so I can split it up a bit (front of the vehicle, rear of the vehicle). I can highly recommand these parts.

Some small upgrades... first, the above mentioned Jeep now belongs to my wife. I got myself a silver 2000 XJ. Beside that, my ´94 black daily driven XJ had close to 200000 miles on the clock and then there came another pristine ´99 blue XJ with only 35000 miles on the clock - so we bought a...

found an cherokee with a diesel

The turbo diesel engines were pretty common in european XJs. One was the mentioned 2.1 french engine, the other is a 2.5 liter engine built by the italian company VM. It was used in other cars as well. The VM had thermal problems and is a non-desirable engine at all. I don´t understand why so...

They were quite rear on the Pre-Facelift modells (84-96) and even rarer with three headrests (like I´ve got in my daily driven black XJ from 94), but I´ve got no clue, if all Limited after the facelift (97-01) came with them.

I feel like a newb: lift for 255/85 required XJ

255/85 usually come in 16" sizes, that equals to about 33.5x10". It´s a very common size for LandRover vehicles and it looks pretty fugly on an Cherokee IMHO. You´ll need somewhere between 4.5" and 6.5" inches of lift, depending on how much fender you´re willing to cut.

The LED bar is fantastic! The light is whiter, it´s "more" than the HIDs and it´s "instant on", whereas the HIDs need some seconds to reach their full power. If I had to choose, I´d take the LED bar. I´ve got the "old" version with 3W LEDs each and now the 10W LED modells are out for even more...

Aux power/fuse box in rear cargo area.

For power distribution and fuses I just bought that: http://bluesea.com/products/5026 It really helps cleaning up that wiring mess. I put it in the glove box and will perhaps mount a small one in the rear of the vehicle.
