I have similar parts on order, but went with 1/2" quick disconnects from McMasterCarr - bigger is better, right? Parts should be here in time for the install this weekend. I flipped mine open for the first time this weekend using the garage wall and second -story window method described in other...
OK, this thread has been quiet so I'll respond to the first question. My recently-acquired but quite old Flip-Pac had the original lights which looked to be clean and un-damaged, but neither light worked. They had power and good bulbs. A little disassembly revealed a very hokey sliding mechanism...
Mine came with the zero-cost-optional broken torsion bar, so it's never been flipped. Still undecided on whether to invest the dollars in the parts (need a crank handle also). Taking it on its maiden camping trip tomorrow. Anyway, here is the un-Flipped-Pac on my T100:
I recently bought my first pickup in 20 years (owned them for 12 years before) and really enjoyed the unencumbered feel driving it around. Then I picked up a cheap FlipPac and immediately questioned the choice. It's big and ugly. But honestly, after a few weeks I don't even notice it's there...

Resurrecting this thread .... as I have a line on a used FP for a very good price but it almost certainly needs a torsion bar. I only pushed it up a few inches from closed position (no crank) to check the fabric, which seems good, but the aluminum tube over the torsion bar is cracked in the...
