All fixed! Just need to break-in 500km now + hot valve adjustment. It idles dead-on upon initial startup. Question: -Is the valve cover gasket re-useable? Silicon needed? -What's the valve clearance setting at hot?

A little update: I've found 1 freshly rebuilt 22re in Whistler for $1200. Haven't check it out yet, but it has plastic chain guide. Yesterday I went check out the $1400 one in Langley. This guy in his early 60s surely does this for a living. He sells about 2 of these every month apparently...

the al sheet might work, but how are you isolating al from steel? it might rust really bad in the long term especially w/ condensation buildup in cold weather inside & within wall. i used a 4x8 al sheet flat on my roof. i bought mine i believe in winter 2006. 20 gauge thickness at $45cad/sheet.

I got 4 sheets for $125. They are odd size that the width just happend to fit the height of my camper (not 4x8). I can't remember how many square footage I got but the base of my camper is about 7'x7', + a bit on roof top & under cab-over section.
