Not sure what you mean here, care to explain? Yes the Nav on the LR3 looks dated (but the evoque is not much better, I wish they would source somthing other than navtec). Yes the LR3 bluetooth could be better, but works fine.
Pulling the fuses isn't so much about stopping the compressor- it stops the exhaust valves from being opened by the computers. Any air in the system is now trapped.
The computers constantly do a high level self check to look for very major issues, then a more agressive check when you hit 30mph...
I posted this in another thread but here are the 4 reasons I have disabled the air suspension system when out on the trail (on other trucks... knock on wood)
1. If your tie rod end is bent, or for some reason the steering angle is too far out of spec (you are driving straight, but the steering...
Oh and other reasons to stay below 32"
- I would need to cut off the frame horns at the back of the front wheel wells.
- I need to re-route the rear AC pipes in the rear wheel wells and modify sliders
- I run these tires at stock height, I can do it with <32", but won't be able to with >32"...
Interesting size the 235/80 - but no MT's are available in it, all I can find is the druatrac.
I'm staying below 32". I've seen way too many suspension faults disable air systems. I think I have personally disabled the air system (pulling fuses after getting the faults cleared so it could get...
This is really the only thing that differentiates the 2. I don't have chains, or have needed to use chains in the past. But the fact that I can't fit them is annoying. I do need to go over the cascade mountains pass from time to time.
I just can't find a compelling reason for either size...
What wheel spacers did you use?
Any issues running them on the trail? Can they take the abuse of hits on the trail? I did bend a lower control arm once soooo
17's were sold in Europe and Australia (probably other non NA markets). There were also I believe 20 test LR3s brought to the US with the 17's. Requires the use of v6 brake parts. Only 1 style of 17" was made.
Here is a photo of the 17's
An interesting dilemma I am working on: wide vs narrow on an LR3. I'm moving to 17" wheels to get an MT tire in <32"
I'm looking at 2 different sizes for KM2's: 245/75-17 or 265/70-17
- Both are the same outer diameter (31.7) so no difference in side wall, this is simply about section width...
IMO there is no reason to look at a v6. The jag v8 is equally reliable (you don't hear of engine problems with either). The MPG difference is almost nothing. The v8 has more power.
The shift points/match with transmission might be the only thing (I have no experience as I haven't driven a v6)...
Looks great to me. I spy a hint of series I door tops with the verticle side.
Sad to see IFS and probably air bags. I would love to see the solid axles stay on the defender. Put IFS on everything else (a la wrangler)
Only a fool would use a land rover as a bug out vehicle... I mean seriously.
Go get an older diesel domestic pickup/suburban that you could actually find replacement parts for during an event.
This was also the same statement I heard from every employee I asked at the Solihull factory...........One guy worked in special vehicles since the 60's - "the best thing ever"
Yes all G4's ran on 19" wheels. The tires are GoodYear MT/R's but have since been discontinued. You can't get those tires anymore.
There was a rumor that GoodYear made some more for the LR4 that did the Mongolia run for the 1 millionth trip several months ago.
I did also see reference to a...
