Going to revive a very old thread here. Does anyone have experience converting a Chevy G30 van to 4x4, or know any shops that are offering parts kits/ or conversions currently?

It's definitelty not going to be a rock crawler, but for some of the wide-open terrain out west, something like this could be a fairly capable. More capable than most medium size RV's, certainly. The E-450 chassis and the 7.3 are both robust.

Sorry to go slightly off topic, but I have always wondered why people post items for "trade only'. It seems highly unlikely that the person who has the thing you want, is also looking for exactly what you are getting rid of. Why not sell your truck, and use the cash to buy what you want...

Pretty damn near a steal for a completed ambulance camper with 4x4, solar, lithium batteries, fridge, diesel heat. The interior build looks pretty simple, but nicely done (better than a lot I've seen selling for 2-3x this price).

Besides the box being a little short on headroom this is a decent deal (if it isn't rusted out). I think the older Ford vans look rad.
