For warmer weather camping I prefer a rectangular flannel lined sleeping bag.
Coleman, Slumberjack and Cabela's make extra long sleeping bags for people > 6-feet.
There are also wider mummy type bags available

A truck stop would be good for showering, food and fuel etc before heading out to a camp spot
When car camping I try to bar b q dinners and also have a teflon frying pan which makes clean up easy. I use paper plates and paper towels which get burned in the camp fire.
