Thanks! This is definitely a great way to go, really cheap, extremely easy to wire up and use, low current draw... here's the link to warm white/waterproof amazon... and if you want to make it mood lighting... mood it up

Thank you! For some reason the latch that I used on my personal bumper has been giving me problems, but the latch (same exact one as mine) that I put on the bumper I built for a guy has had no issues whatsoever. I'm now trying to figure out if it's the latch, or something in the geometry of how...

Capture Colorado 01 TRD Taco - GOAE build

The shipping weight between the two packages was 120lbs, I kind of doubt that's the actual weight, I can lift it and install it unassisted without issue. It's awkward, but doable. As a side note, someone take the rear bumper away from me before I throw it away. Damn thing warped and it's eating...

Here's some crappy cellphone pics of the lighting setup. Low beams only. These are the Olympus Offroad H4 LED bulbs w/ Anzo housings High + low High+low+pods. Pods are angled outward to act as cornering lights, to hopefully allow me to see around switchbacks and hard turns at night...

Capture Colorado 01 TRD Taco - GOAE build

Relentless GB DIY kit came last week, tacked it together yesterday and then moved on to wiring up my relay/fuse board that I've been putting off until I had somewhere to hang my lights. The mounting holes on the lower light are slightly off-center, which must change, and the pods aren't aimed...

Thanks guys. It's quite heavy, I'd say the bumper itself is probably in the 100lb range, so probably close to 140 with the swing out. It's just light enough that I can move it around myself with my bad shoulder.

Just needs paint. Figured out a way to mount the dual sheer bracket without having to weld it on. Makes installing the bumper easier by tenfold. Also allows modifications to be made to just the swingout whenever needed in the future.

Just about wrapped up with the bumper I'm building for a guy on TacomaWorld. Mine will be almost the same, save for a few minor changes.

Roof rack...full bike or fork mount? Offroad?

You'll definitely want the fork mount style. The Thule XTR or whatever their full-bike roof rack is, is quite stable, but they don't hold up great to the stresses of being knocked around offroad. With the fork mount it physically bolts the bike to your roof (basically), so that it's less likely...

    'Cross/gravel/touring/generally awesome bike - All-City Nature Boy Zona 55cm...custom

SOLD! But in case you wanted to know how sweet the bike was. Specs: Frameset - 55cm All-City Nature Boy w/ Zona tubing, custom painted with a clear glossy powdercoat over a sandblasted raw frame (it's hot, it's like a metallic gray paint, but naturally metallic, and better). "big" ring - 42t...

Thanks! I definitely recommend it! I'm really impressed with their quality and workmanship. And the fit (despite it being for a slightly different size bed) is spot on.

Capture Colorado 01 TRD Taco - GOAE build

Picked up something sweet this evening. A customer of the shop's came by in his Dodge the other day, he has a Softopper on the Dodge, and I hadn't gotten a close look at one ever, so I asked him some questions and we got to talking about the Taco, he just so happened to have a Softopper kicking...

It's a logo for a Toyota truck specific scrap yard, it's really cool when you look closely at it, one eye has a Toyota logo, the other says Jim's, and there's some other stuff in there as well. http://www.jimsgotparts.com/Yoda_Jims/Home.html

Capture Colorado 01 TRD Taco - GOAE build

So.. a fair amount has happened in the last couple of weeks. I got some 285/75r16's on CL for a solid deal. Even more, they're TreadWright Guard Dog's on BFG casings, just like the 265/70's I already had, plus brand new full size spare. I'm happy with it. Truck looks good, handles great, could...

Capture Colorado 01 TRD Taco - GOAE build

I had a chance tonight after work to check and see what kind of space the boar would fit and where under the hood. There's a perfect spot on the passenger side behind the air filter box, and the shape of the panel should lend itself very well to fitting into the corner there. I'll just need to...

Capture Colorado 01 TRD Taco - GOAE build

Somewhere under the hood... I hope. There should be space in there; I might do something with a hinge on one side and wingnut on the other if I need to put the board above something else. We'll see, I still need to get my front bumper situation sorted out before I can install anything :\
