We had a 96 Limited growing up (no locker)
I still think its one of the best looking SUVs ever, and if it werent for the Toyota Tax would likely have one over my Xterra
Would definitely be cool, she wouldnt be the old wood hauler anymore, a FWC would give you the interior space with less height and still retain the bed, a lot more $$$ though
Things can go wrong fast
Obviously you didn't find it the next morning, Xterras never get stuck nor do they break down :sombrero:
But seriously that would have been weird to see in the middle of the night
Looks like a fun trip despite the bad timing on the cv boot failure!
Definitely the smallest but still the truck I would pick given the choice
Have you read this? http://www.otherhand.org/home-page/search-and-rescue/the-hunt-for-the-death-valley-germans/
I read through it last summer and it...
Welcome to the dark side!
Amazing the payload capacity, shows you how bloated pickups and vehicles in general have come. A lot of weight for added safety systems now as well.
Looking forward to future updates!
Depends how it fails. Both mine cracked right in half, but with the weight of the truck on them they didn't fall out. The ride just gets rough and loud.
Once I had it on the lift I could pull it out with one hand.
Usually they break right before or after the ubolts where they are held to the...

With customs you can get them to design whatever lift or extra weigh capacity you want
If something happens that causes your truck to flip over it would be a very rare case where the rear sway bar on a leaf sprung vehicle would have prevented it.
Just don't drive it like a sportscar. Took me awhile to adjust but I drive like a grandma now, and that's cool
I hear you, I only ended up going with the 235 85s because they fit on my truck stock. Wrapping a pile of money up in a lift isn't always the best solution. I like to keep it reliable and simple.
There is a million youtube videos. Either my truck was really clean or I didn't do something right because I didn't get anywhere near the smoke coming out
Just remove one of the vacuum lines, forget what I used. You need two people. Rev the engine up a bit and fire the stuff into the vacuum line until it basically stalls itself out. Wait a few minutes and fire it up, usually is a smoke show.
You pull the vacuum line off the end, not where its...
