They must do things differently out here in Nevada and California regarding chain controls...because unless you're driving a 4WD/AWD with snows you have to have chains on chain days over the passes or its a no go.

LandCruiserPhil makes a good point. Lower pressure = lower weight carrying capability (all things being equal). Lower tire pressures will generally run hotter. The tire size and your GVW come in to play with regard to how low and how fast you can safely roll... Good info about it here...

Just checked both of mine: My original Toyo Open Country AT in 285/75R18 is rated ("E") at 4,080lbs @ 80psi. Ditto for my new OC AT2 variant.

Installed! Took Discount Tire 3-days to get them (285/75R18). Made in the USA. Took minimal lead to balance. And the sidewalls are thick!

I have a semblance of an idea about the big amount of time (and complexity) it would take to write a new map/nav map system. Having said that it sure would be nice to know if Overland Nav for IOS is weeks, months or maybe even years out. We're an impatient lot huh?!

^ Toyo mentions on their website certain sizes are a little more aggressive or "Xtreme" model variant as they say. Do you know if your's are the standard issue or the Xtreme version? If this is your first set of Toyo tires you might just be feeling their extra thick sidewall construction...
