Here is my camper. Not as unique as the others and not suitable for off road but it is only 2400 lbs. Closed up the camper is 16 feet plus a couple more feet for the hitch. The tents open out another 4 feet on each end.
Light and easy to tow and lots of space.
Looks good. Make sure you take of your back. My buddy opted to go the pain med route for treatment as opposed to working at it to make his back stronger.
I have a TJ and packing can be a challenge if you let it. My first years in the Army I was in a light Infantry Unit so packing light is easy for me. I don't take any perishable food so no need for an ice chest, that save me allot of room. Sleeping bags take up space. I have a lighter wait...
Back in the day my Army hummer offered the same feature. You where to stick you lug wrench through those holes and then let a cord wrap around it. The onely problem was we only had 550 cord that wasn't strong enough and sling legs were too thick.
As far as power, you are under geared with those larger tires.
As far as wandering, I would replace the tires before you do anything else and don't over inflate them. I like skinner tires better than fat ones. I think they drift less. Don't over inflate them. Trying running around 25 psi...
I would tend to loose weights. So I tied BBS. They worked for the 10 years I have been running interco tires, TrXus MTs and now super swamper bias ply. These tire take balance better with beads or BBs.
I have using dana beasts and BBs for about 10 years. You are more likely to loose a weight and have a balance issue the dealing the fraction of a second it takes balance using beads or fluid.
If you are talking about open vs concealed carry, I don't see it as an indication of how divided the country is but more of a Chevy vs. Ford thing.
As far as being able to carry versus not being able to carry? That is more of an issue that divides many in this country.
You asked if I thought it would but my family in danger if I open carry. I don't open carry but my thoughts are I would assume it would more likely be a deterrent then an invitation to confront me. Would it make me a target in a crowd? I don't think a bad guy is going to examine the crowd in...
I don't open carry.
Open carry is good. If it draws the bad guy's attention to the armed guy it draws attention away from me. If it provided me a chance for my family to escape that would be a benefit. If I had to take a shot and the shooter was concentrating on someone else all the better...
Personal defense is just that. I am not a cop, it is not my job to protect others. I will protect my family and myself. If I ever had to shot someone the ramification could be crushing. I will not take on the risk or responsibility for anybody other than my family or myself. Some will see...
How can we tell if open carry works to stop a crime or make armed people targets? There is not hotline or a way to collect info from would be thieves who decided not to commit a crime because they say somebody armed. I doubt they are going to admit to murder, attempting to commit murder on a...
We have gotten way off topic.
the post is titled: "For those that carry Guns and Overlanding""
I think we need to discuss what Overlanding is before we can really answer this question.
Here is place where I disagree. I hold and elected position in a very small community. Social media is POWERFUL. Maybe not here in a forum between us but you can use the net to be herd.
I am not disagreeing. I am saying that according the Constitution we have the right to keep and bear arms, and this shall not be infringed. Anything that limits this is an infringement. If this keeping and bearing of arms should have limits the shall not be infringed should be removed from...
