    Tesla Cybertruck: The Future?

Fake news. "Exists now" is your language, not mine. Nice try. The obvious context of this discussion and my post is "forthcoming" technology. You should try to keep that kind of stuff to yourself - it just pollutes the forum.

    Tesla Cybertruck: The Future?

Well, it's the future - it's fantastic, refreshing, good-old-American innovation. Straightforward and different -- they reimagined and electrified the truck. And it's hilarious how badly this pisses some people off. That much metal, muscle, payload, speed and electro-trolling power for $39K...

    Farewall Land Cruiser?

Well, as I said, they're stoked. The handful of times I've brought it into dealerships for repair (not often, it's a Land Cruiser after all) they're not just able and willing to do the repair, but generally stoked to work on and hear and talk about an older Land Cruiser that's still trucking...

2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3.0L EcoDiesel

I wish it had more payload. And, honestly, the reliability question gives me pause (my 27 yr old LC is still dead reliable). Time will tell on reliability. Regardless, what a great offering from Jeep.

    Farewall Land Cruiser?

That's not true. They're generally stoked to work on them.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3.0L EcoDiesel

I agree--the sport diesel is remarkable value. I love how down-specd it is. The fewer fancy electro-bits the better. Not paying for them, even moreso. Simple, sturdy, capable, efficient, great range, steelies, roll windows and under 40K. Add tall skinnies, locker(s) and an Ursa Minor pop-top...

A few images from a late October week in Death Valley. Long views. The morning after a 60 mph windstorm. I always enjoy meeting fellow Land Cruiser enthusiasts--this chance encounter was in the middle of nowhere, appropriately so.

Indeed - keenly aware. Which is why the new Defender is such a unique offering--class-leading payload and good capability atop a not-too-big platform. But in that case, at least for me, worst-in-class brand reliability is disqualifying.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3.0L EcoDiesel

Yeah, 1200 is underwhelming -- nearly disqualifying for remote touring. If that's the case, bummer.

2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 3.0L EcoDiesel

A diesel unlimited sport, adding lockers and an Ursa Minor pop-top, would be very attractive--utilitarian but capable with good range. Wonder what it's payload will be?

Australian and British bloggers arrested in Iran

The Iranian government controls Iran. Whether to publicly justify or even disclose arrests or convictions is the prerogative of the Iranian government. Travelers and observers may not like that, may not like the way this was handled, and may think it's a problem, but that problem is travelers'...

    Farewall Land Cruiser?

Congrats. They are really nice. For purposes of extended remote dirt touring, there aren't many wagons that match the Land Cruiser's durability, reliability and capability. If they discontinue delivery of the 200 to the U.S. it'll leave a big gap, in my opinion. Ward, in the video above...

No Real Surprise Here...LC Owners Love Their Rigs

Original owner (family rig) - 1992 80 - 27 years, more than half my life. It's now a dedicated pop-top dirt tourer, still dead reliable and capable. Should it ever die, I'll get a another Land Cruiser - the second and last in my life.
