Thanks. I've been looking for an excuse for a 120 day remote beach camp. This is perfect.

So, who knows electricity math? How long would it take to charge this truck with 3 100W panels and bright sunshine?

I wonder if outfitting the Rivian with a smaller motor could expand its range. Seven hundred horsepower and having the torque of four semis is cool, but also excessive and needless; it'd make way more sense to swap half that power for more range, if possible.

Another: Atlis claims it will deliver a 500 mile range truck with four separate wheel motors in 2020.

Agree with BRP... Charge time isn't and won't be the issue; tech is already on the cusp of 15 minute charges for six hours of travel - numbers that will only improve. But charge location, and remote charging, will challenge remote touring. Solar systems to support remote charging while...

If you're asking about the Campteq, it's bone dry in the rain. The sleeping platform is atop the roof, not in the truck (the roof's not cut out). The liftgate is closed when I sleep, so, no, there's no risk of leaking as you describe, and no need to park rear end higher.

The Restoration And Build Thread For My 1992 FJ80

That's great. And, nice rig. I've got a 92 as well. At 229k, it feels as strong as ever. I wonder what the high-mileage record is for a 3FE?

Land Cruiser 100 series - long range fuel tank

I purchased a 24 gal aux tank for my 80 from Ward and company. I am happy with the result. The installation went fine. The two-tank fueling mechanism and electronic pump control are simple and functional. The tank itself is bomber. It doubles the vehicle's range, lowers its center of...
