Finally got around to getting suspension and wheels/tires on our demo unit. I've heard of a few Khaya owners who have just done air bags with stock suspension...but going with a real suspension upgrade is a must in our opinion. This is an OME heavy kit (OMETAC16HKSB - $1,225) with a 1" spacer...
If you wanted to maintain a backup camera you would need to go aftermarket since removing the tailgate (which includes the OEM camera) is mandatory for install.
We don't have exact weights yet, but I believe they were targeting around 350lbs. The bed with both font and rear platforms down is 48" wide and 105" long and the high density foam mattress is 3" thick.
I just spoke w/ our distributor and these units will fit the following applications:
Tacoma (2nd & 3rd Gen) Short Bed & Long Bed
Colorado Short Bed & Long Bed
Nissan Frontier Short Bed & Long Bed
The only differences will be the rear door fitment kit. Otherwise universal.
I'm talking with the supplier tomorrow and will get confirmation of alternate applications aside from Tacoma & Colorado. Will post up as soon as I'm able.
