    DIY Super Singles

Good day all! I posted some of this information in my Hino build thread but figured some might not visit my post and could still benefit from the information so here it is. My Hino came with a 8 lugs pattern which proved to be almost impossible to find super singles locally (in Canada). I...

    Fuso Canter - Pfau 6500

Never heard of those but that'd be a good buy. Not cheap though. Looks like they have a couple available. To get a cabover 4x4 crewcab I had to find a JDM one and import it.

Somewhat productive day, mostly planning but good day! Took one of my front wheel off to take measurements then off to the waterjet shop nearby my place. Very friendly and professional place, not cheap but can't have it all right. So as expected I have the old style studs so bolt centric I...

Would be nice to have these type of shops locally... On a side note I received my 5 Titan steel rims yesterday. I forgot how heavy 120lbs is, lol. This will be my next project along with taking the box out in early Feb. As for suspension, it's not too bad in general. That is, until you see a...

Thanks my friend You made the transition to this new truck very smooth. For those who don't know DirtWhiskey has the same truck as mine and got me tons of info, manuals, etc to get me going. Much appreciated!

For lighter vehicles I would agree but not necessarily with heavier ones. I could be wrong but that's my experience anyway. Once the new wheels are mounted I'll decide if I need to get them re-arched. Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

Nice thing with JDM truck is they are pretty neat. Even after 28 yrs there's still a sticker on the front axle confirming the gear ratio, same on the transfer case :) Axle: 5.14 And nice to be able to set some HD ramps, no crawling required! Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

I love knuckle ends. Had them on my 90's Nissan Patrol. Maybe they changed the design here to make more money on service & parts [emoji6] Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

Do you mean they look worn-out? I don't think so but I wish it came with parabolics though! Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

This is the front axle. I'm not sure what's the weight rating but it's substantial, the axle is way larger than the Dyna super 60 on my ambo.

Tires came from the USA. I got them for $310usd a piece and no freight cost so a steal in my book. Not sure about the date but DOT. As for the front axle I'm not sure. I guess similar to a Hino 500? I do have some specs buried somewhere, I could dig it up. I'll post a close up picture of the...

Thanks! Yes Titans rims from militarytires.ca I found the tires on ebay but they are mostly all out back east. I got lucky as I found a set of 5 new ones 1.5hrs from my house and cheaper! So I saved the freight cost :) Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

Quick update while I'm slowly planning my next move. Truck is now fully insured and a blast to drive around! This truck seems to have specific specs for the FD. For some reason it's a 5spd manual while "civilian" trucks of the same era had a 6spd. The engine is a H07D non-turbo (7410cc) while...

    School Me on Heavy Trucks

I had similar needs so on my current build I converted an ambulance to 4x4 and added legal seating at the back. So it currently sits 4 legally and 2 extra without seat belts (could be added) and also sleeps 4 to 6. I will be selling it this summer as I now have your 2nd option... I imported...

Pics of your VAN! Post up!

Happy New Year everyone! Santa was good to me this year and got me a nice new toy to build (although more of a truck than a van) ;) The ambo is taking a well deserved break and sometime in 2023 might be looking for a new owner! Right now she acts as my man cave. Cheers from Vancouver Canada...

Thanks for that info. Here we mostly use psi and the range for air brakes is normally from 110psi to 135psi. The compressor engages around 90psi and the blow off valve releases at 150psi. So now I'm pretty curious how my numbers will be! I'm out of town until the 4th so won't be able to check...
