3rd Gen Montero Initial Impressions/Build Thread

Ditto that Sabre. I'm looking to lower drag up there.

3rd Gen Montero Initial Impressions/Build Thread

I've ordered HD OME for my Gen III from Rocky Road along with their sliders. Sliders are made in-house, quick and easy install, nice craftsmanship. Been four weeks on the OME order, still waiting. Aside from Volvos, we share similar tastes in vehicle types, BTW; from a CBR 1100XX to a slammed...

WTB Jaos Rear Ladder for Gen III Monty

It's a long shot, I know, but I'm looking for this or similar item. Jaos no longer imports this item.

Floridians do Utah (a traverse plus some other stuff)

Always fun to see someone else's perspective of our stomping grounds. Great prose and photos. I PM'd you in the event things go pear-shaped. Great adventures and best of luck. Looking forward to more posts.

Ditto, Pat. I especially like the monochromatic facia with the masonry. Good eye, good composition.

smartphone use is changing the models of future computing

Highly portable (try pocketing an iPad) and less conspicuous (try photographing with an iPad), and it's easy to understand why more web access is done through these devices despite the cramped input portal, that tiny keyboard. I teach Social Media and New Media Applications and I've seen the...

    UT-NV-CA-OR

While this trip defies the true definition of backcountry or overland adventure, it's an adventure nonetheless using the same kit and vehicle we use off-road. that curvy undulating ribbon of black

Great build with great details. Thanks for the inspiration.

What is NEEDED for a decent overland set up?

This is the best advice I've had - the first need you have is to know your vehicle and your limits in it. Chances are we're all wheeling in terrain that we'll be re-wheeling in. Build toward that end. Recovery first. A HiLift with kit isn't as glamorous as a Warn winch, but it'll do the job...

    ImNoSaint's Gen III Build

Second Phase - Protection, Suspension & Recovery Took a bigger plunge in ordering rock sliders from Rocky Road Outfitters, along with an ARB bull bar bumper and an HD OME suspension kits. The sliders arrived and are installed. Other recovery gear includes a HiLift jack with a with a...

    ImNoSaint's Gen III Build

Since I'm getting knee deep into this, thought I'd start a build thread chronicling the progress or the procrastination. This is what we started with, an '03 Montero Limited we bought to replace our previous land barge, an '07 GMC Yukon, used to haul around four teenagers and one pre-teen. Four...

    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

Okay, good to know. Looks like the offset of the 7.5 works to the favor of the spacers, an issue that's been bugging me for awhile now. Thank you.

    Post your Mitsubishi Pajero Pics

Looks like the offset works fine. I have a Gen III on which I use spacers to increase track and aesthetically fill the wheel wells with the stock wheels. I'm considering FJC wheels as well, and with the spacers won't have to modify the rims. My question to you is, did the FJC wheels' offset...

A stock Gen III explores Utah

Not yet. There's a local 4X4 shop here that fabricates. I'll be barking up that tree to see what can be done. I'm also checking with them on fabricating a rear bumper with spare tire carrier. I'll post what I find out. Perhaps if we have a number of people interested they'll work with their pricing.
