Maybe the tranny and t case together. An sm465, probably the strongest manual you can get in a stand dad truck only weighs 160 pounds. A t18, np435 and so on only weigh about 130 pound. Hell the tranny from an m35 weighs less than your claimed weight. I would need to see proof of a 260 pound...
So what you're saying is, a cv from a montero is 4" in diameter? As 100mm is 3.9ish inches. Not sure how to figure Toyota copied Mitsubishi. When Nissan made ifs in the 70s.
If you import one it'll have a 5 speed. Guaranteed. A 12ht is easy to find. Just has to be 25 years or older. As far as the factory lockers, that may be a bit harder to find.
That's crazy. I have an 05 4Runner and it pulls my 3000 pound pop up with zero issue. Thats going up to an elevation of 8000 feet. There's gotta be more to the story or something wrong.
Still a transfer case :). Functions exactly the same. Viscous is very reliable. Look at Subaru. I've spent my life with manual transfer cases and have no issue with electronic shift. To each his own I guess.
