Took a short one day one night trip to the Mogollon Rim this weekend with Joe (08whitexterra). Had all the camera gear along but only took a handful of shots. We were playing around with some night shots and decided to stretch the limits of our point and shoots.
Here are 3 from a Canon S95

Awesome timing! Were the rocks really this red? Seems like the red and purple have been pushed a bit too far to the slightly unrealistic point. I would suggest toning them back a little bit.
I'll provide my thoughts on these three shots of yours.

There is something here but there are too many distractions. I really wish this shot was just the man sitting with the girl looking over his shoulder. The problem is there are other people in the art work and they are now headless or...
Just picked up my 2nd pair today - went with the Bikila LS as the KSO's didn't have enough foot protection at times. The Bikila LS are so much easier to get on and off as well. When my Adidas Samba's finally blow out I will pick up a pair of the Speed as well. Look like a great casual and...
I would disagree with your assessment of the replies. I never mentioned what I shoot or if that had any bearing on my opinion. My issue is people claiming one is better than the other or in the case of this guy comparing the two on unequal levels. The majority of things he discussed have more to...
A couple of questions as looking at that Epson it is a pretty nice design for a pretty good price.
What is the scan time per tray of negatives?
What program are you using for post? Does the program separate each negative or scan them as one image?
Can you post a couple examples of scanned...

I used ScanCafe and sent a bunch of prints and a few negatives. Service was pretty quick and they do allow you to view some examples on line before paying for the DVD's. The results were...
End result on computer true- but they do affect the histogram on the camera and what you see when zooming in for details which the author said he did during the ceremony to check shadows.
I am not going to lie. My first reaction was much the same as Michael Slade's but for different reasons. I don't care in what mode someone shoots or with what gear, however I tire of the need people have to attempt to make claims to which system is better without the use of any real quantitative...
If you have Lightroom you should be able to select individual colors. To balance skin tones in your first picture of the little girl select your red and reduce saturation a little bit and then increase the luminance a little bit.
With the baby do the same thing with Yellow.
Clark-
Some good stuff. One thing I notice is your color is off on a few of these. What are you using for editing? If you can adjust saturation and luminance for reds and yellows try to decrease the saturation a little bit and increase the luminosity of your reds and yellows to get a more...
