End result on computer true- but they do affect the histogram on the camera and what you see when zooming in for details which the author said he did during the ceremony to check shadows.

If you have Lightroom you should be able to select individual colors. To balance skin tones in your first picture of the little girl select your red and reduce saturation a little bit and then increase the luminance a little bit. With the baby do the same thing with Yellow.
