Interesting. Do you mean you unplugged the fuse? There's a fuse for the DRL circuit, but I dont want to disable DRL completely. I looked at reprogramming BCM options, it doesn't look like it's possible on my vehicle. Neat trick though!
Bingo!
My lights have 3 positions: off, marker lights...
How did you deal with daytime running lights? In my Nissan high beams are always on at a fraction of total power to enable drl function.

That’s the one. I’m trying to obey the spirit and the letter by having the lights wired through the high beam switch only.

I'm in the province of British Columbia:
This is from the motor vehicle act, section 4.09. I can't link to the section directly but you can find it here through the browser search function. I believe lots of the states have a similar provision.
Thanks I saw that. Unfortunately doesn’t help much because US Xterra’s don’t have the drl module that the Canadian ones do.

Off hunting for the schematics I go, thanks!
That's the setup I have right now. Unfortunately the trigger for the relay is difficult to find. Nissan is tricky with their DRL wiring.
2010 Nissan XTerra. Going to look for a wiring diagram, all I want to do is tap into a 12v constant on...
Good afternoon everyone.
Any tips on how to wire in auxiliary lamps to be used by existing vehicle controls? My initial plan was to wire into the high beams. This makes it legal for road use. Upon further investigation I found out that daytime running lights module does something funky at the...
Different product. Bedourie ovens are some sort of steel that’s 1/3 the weight of cast iron and doesn’t require seasoning. I love cast iron and use it at home, just exploring other alternatives.

I've seen this clip before, bedourie oven seems like a great option. Any idea if there's something similar in North America? Shipping from Australia doubles the cost.
Have you replaced your UCAs? The common experience is that anything above 2” will cause coil bucket contact.
Thenewx.org is a good resource for second Gen xterra stuff.

Sounds good Mike, thanks. I like that your setup doesn't require drawers it saves on weight and makes the system more modular. My vehicle is a DD so I'd prefer to remove it between trips. I'm trying to prototype something in sketchup; if i ever get anywhere I'll link you :)
Btw, in thinking...
That's really great. Thanks for posting. Enjoyed watching you build it.
What's the total weight? Any thoughts on how to make the footprint smaller when not in use? I'd love to store it in the garage or something, but space is at premium.. Foldable legs?
Seems like a lot of flooded road crossings in icedragonmx future. Snorkel wouldn’t have helped with that last one...
