    FOR SALE BRAND NEW LMTV/FMTV ARMY TRUCK CUMMINS/ALLISON 4x4, 6x6 M1078, M1088

And hasn't it been well established that the "for sale" section is for MEMBERS, i.e., not someone who joined just to post an ad for his business? Your etiquette sucks, Van.

Replacing Front Wheel Bearings on Gen III

I have no idea what size it is...it's not very big. The "little indexing nubs?" Do you mean must it be a castle nut? Yes, of course, for the cotter pin to provide security.

EyeInTheSky's Gen 3 Budget Build Thread

Electrically speaking, switching DC ground isn't a problem and won't have any effect on the switches or lamps. As you note, the device will be hot to 12 volts at all times. While not a shock hazard, it does present an opportunity for a short circuit in an unswitched hot line. If a lamp housing...

Video - Massive Waves Hit Harbor Breakwall

One of the recurrent nightmares I used to have as a kid was the ocean just steadily rising, coming up to swallow everything. Watching the tsunami vids...and this one...give me a little bit of an uneasy feeling way down deep.

Replacing Front Wheel Bearings on Gen III

Well i do know that you can pull on the axle and it will slide out on those splines to the limit of their travel. I understood that this was how to access the circlip. Let us know what you find out!

Replacing Front Wheel Bearings on Gen III

I have not pulled the axle before, but can give you the general idea. The inner end of the axle has splines exactly like the outer end that mate with the diff. The detail of how they connect is different from side to side. Here's a link to the service manual chapter that covers this...

Yup, and centimeters matter when driving and parking in crowded Japanese cities. These are almost universally seen there because they're so practical.

1993 Mitsubishi Delica - Desk To Glory

Since this one is a '93, it will be legally importable next year. There are tons of these things running around BC, and parts are readily available. Also, the strength of the US dollar makes such purchases attractive. You could find an inexpensive 25 year old example and could do some...

    Sleeping in your vehicle

SabreWife and I sleep in the back of our Montero. Unless it's raining, we just leave the windows down and the back open in all temps. If it's very windy we'll close the windows on the windward side. For buggy nights I made up screens that fit all four windows and the sunroof; we close the back...

If it were I...go with the reman. Your engine is showing its age, and it's inevitable that there are other areas of it that have suffered from lack of lubrication and/or dirty oil, hard use, etc. Valve train, big end bearings, rings & pistons...every bit of this engine had the same wear and...

wheel bearings -front, and ride quality

The bearings are not hard to seat on our Monties. You won't need to freeze anything; they just slip in. I documented this on my Gen III here: http://forum.expeditionportal.com/threads/147406-Replacing-Front-Wheel-Bearings-on-Gen-III?highlight=wheel

Any new info on tred pros

My apologies; yes, the TRED Pro seems to go for the same price as the Maxtrax. I got in on the Kickstarter (learned about it here on ExPo) and got mine at a substantial discount. It was the original TRED that was much less expensive than the Maxtrax.

Before getting my biology degree I majored in Spanish with a Russian minor, then studied Spanish literature in grad school; I'm fluent in Spanish but didn't use the Russian for a few decades, so I'm terribly out of practice. I work at a hospital and use the Spanish almost every day, but we also...
