    Ultimate Expedition Compact Camera Discussion

Except for the fact that Sony will sell 100 times more cameras and lenses then Leica. Sony is not trying to compete against Leica or even Canon and Nikon DSLR's. They tried with the Alpha series and realized that is not their target market. Sony Nex-5 'Pocket Professional' = $699.00 Leica...

    Ultimate Expedition Compact Camera Discussion

I view cameras more on pocket size as a measurement. I was looking for a small camera and had a really hard time passing on Canon G12. The Canon G12 is what I consider a coat pocket camera where as I was looking for a pants/jeans pocket camera. I went with the Canon S95. I just wish it had an...

    looking for a new camera

I would recommend just waiting until February and add the $240 to the $500 at that time. Gives you a lot more money to work with to get a camera setup that will work for everything you want it to do. For that price you can pick up a used dslr with a couple used lenses.

I am not one that does the desaturated post process look very often but the son liked this one quite a bit. Him blowing up a pile of leaves on his bike.

Night Shots - Well an attempt

I would say white balance setting would be the cause for the color change. Did you set the white balance or was it on Auto?

Night Shots - Well an attempt

I am going to agree with crawldit and suggest picking up a tripod. You can use an inexpensive one to start - $20-$50 Other things to consider is composition, subject matter, and the lights themselves. In your first two shots you are too far away for there to really be any subject- its just a...

    Best of 2010

Chazz you have a great eye- just need some gear that can capture what you see. A tripod would help a lot until you upgrade your camera. I didn't like the limitations and lack of image protection from Flikr. I have an account but doubt I even remember the password. I started with the basic...

:smilies27 Talk about overkill! Waste of money and not a very realistic storage solution in my opinion.

New Year's Resolutions - Image Making

2010 wasn't that great of a year for me in many aspects. A new job and starting a dual masters degree really took up a lot of my extra time so I didn't get out on many shoots or work on photography much at all. I was able to get one gallery show completed this year. Sold off 95% of my gear and...
