:hehe::hehe: Look at the dates of the posts... they are almost a year a part.
I agree, 8 days would be some record for that type of engine swap. :Wow1:
Guess you didn't read all the posts did ya... :costumed-smiley-007
Here is what the OP said what happened,
"Just to inform anyone that might have cared. But i did lose the engine. The water had cause one piston to seize overnight, when I cranked the motor over I snapped one of three timing...
Not sure if it's the same on 4x4 versus 2WD but the post '00 Dakotas love to warp front brake rotors and eat ball joints. I had read of many people going through these in less than 20,000 miles. When I had our '02 2WD quad, I knew about this and was able to take it easy on the brakes. Never...
85CUCV - When I had my M1010 rig, I found a number of people talking about using fuel line from a R/C model airplane store. It held much better (didn't need the clamps), lasted longer than most everything else and was fairly cheap. Just throwing out an FYI for ya.
Yeah, having just getting rid of a rig that had a 6.2 diesel, they are basically simple once you can get your mindset removed from a gas engine mindset. You basically need air and fuel... it makes its own spark. :D (i.e. compression).
Glow plugs help when it cold but are not needed to start...
Yeah, I was out visiting Aluminess regarding a bumper on my '97 Dodge Ram CTD and how far it sticks out is definitely a sticking point. It makes the truck look like it has a serious overbite and fat lip all at once. Not sure what the answer is. :(
I didn't get a chance to check last night but in regards to arbor size, no everyone uses cutoff wheels in a grinder. :D I have a couple cutoff tools. These don't have any standard size as my two have different arbor sizes.
I think you'll find most dealers, regardless of where, don't have inventory as they typically are build to order. They are not like a Lance camper where everyone is built the same way.
At least that's my guess.
Okay, finished up the KDP repair. Overall it went well but took a little longer than I had hoped. Definitely glad I did it as the dowel pin was sticking out a little past the case. Got it tapped back in and now have a tab to hold it from working loose again. Hopefully with the new crank seal...
Well, started doing the KDP project. Outside of getting the fan assembly out, it's been going fairly well. Should rap things up tomorrow. Think this will also fix the oil leak problem based on all dirt caked oil build up.
Come on, didn't anyone think the carpet rolling track wasn't the coolest idea? :D Much better idea than the flip the Bronco on it's side and drag it.
I thought it was kind of neat to see places I have traveled through and say, hey, I've been there!
UKTG is definitely better, even my wife...
FYI, for that era of Ford Superduty trucks, FWC make a higher cab over version to clear the taller cabs. The Grandby we bought is one of these models,
See how much taller it is over the Dodge cab.
That said, not much you can do about the model you have outside of raising the camper up. The...
