    Fuse block for accessories

Correct, an array of LED's in a housing would be wired in parallel to prevent a single light from killing the whole array but you cannot wire a series of arrays together in series because the array needs a specific voltage input to work correctly. In series the voltage is divided evenly across...

    Fuse block for accessories

Unless they are designed for "daisy chaining" most lights have a + wire and - wire. The assembly is rated for 12vdc input and need this voltage to run. If you put them in series, remember you divide the voltage by the number of units. If you have three assemblies in series, each unit only...

    African outback clearance sale

Christo, I am interested in the awning you have listed above but can't find a pic or size of it. Is it like the Hannibal with the two fold out arms to free support the canvas or like the Camping Lab one where you may need to use support legs. I would like first dibs if once I get the info...

    Fuse block for accessories

In your case, you have to go parallel since you are using pre-made lights that are designed for 12 per set. If you were building your own from scratch, you could design them for series or series/parallel to work with 12vdc source.

    Fuse block for accessories

Depends on the fuse block. I have seen some where all are hot with a single hot input. Others have two different positive inputs allow you to have always hot and switched hot. Many different ways of doing things. BTW relays are your friend for doing switching. As for hooking up lights (or...

    Fuse block for accessories

To answer your questions, on your example of 6 circuits with a max block rating of 65A, you can place any mount of fuse rated load, not to exceed the max rating (i.e. 5 spots @ 10A fuses, 1 spot 15A fuse = 65A max load). As for what you put on each leg of the block is up to you. If you have...

    Fuse block for accessories

The BlueSea ones are about the best out there. Ultra duty for the harsh environment of the ocean. The other ones you listed are the standard ones you will find for most automotive applications. They work well for their use, since they typically won't be exposed to salt air/water. Of those...

    Expedition headlights

These are exactly the ones I used. The Autopal lights are exactly what I put in my XJ. They are identical to the Hella housing (having had both, not in the XJ though). They are built by the same manufacturer. They work great but like any E-code lights (which have to meet a much stricter...

    Greeting and some XJ questions

Honestly a stock XJ will go about 80% of most places a typical person will want. Sure it's not going to do the Rubicon or rock crawl but I wheeled my bone stock Cherokee for a year without problems. Driver skill will always trump modifications. It may have taken me a little longer but picking...

Looking for a replacement GPS, recommendations?

So, if I am understanding things correctly, I can get a Garmin unit and upload Topo maps into while still having the car navigation maps available, just like how our Crossover works, correct? Anyone have any comments on the Garmin Nuvi 755T? Costco has a fairly good price on it and from what I...
