That sounds awesome! Never heard of such things and don’t know anything about it, but sounds like it would work for me as well. Any advice on what to research? Thanks
Not anymore really... With the advances in solar efficiency, affordability, and the ability to draw lithiums down really low without damaging them, more and more folks are going with induction cook stops and getting rid of propane all together.
My last camper (Brand new 2018 FWC Hawk) used...
There's some flawed, and straight up wrong information in this post.
It most definitely can be done, and easily at that.
This is a pay to play type of thing. Good things don't come cheap.
I won't argue paper specs on here, like so many seem to love to argue about, but i will argue real world...
Hardwiring something into already existing electrical system sounds like a lot of headache to you and instead you’d rather add additional gas sources and batteries??
Ummmmmmm
I'm running 4awg (not 4/0) which is ample for 60amps.
I have about a 12ft run from truck batter to the Sterling in my camper, and I've tested it with a solid consistent 58amps in real life, not on paper.
Victron also makes 50a and 100a DCDC chargers called the “buck boost”.
I had considered them because I love Victron stuff, but couldn’t find anyone actually using them to get real world feedback and they’re obscenely expensive...
Agree 100%. That's literally exactly what I said id be going! :D
As mentioned, This is just test.
And, there would be ton more brackets to distribute the load evenly so there were no “point loads”
This particular spot isn’t load bearing, and not weight would ever be on it.
For the ones...
My toilet finally arrived, after an 8 week wait because of the Rona.
I think a sign of getting old is when one gets excited to receive a freaking toilet! Hahaha
I went with the AirHead composting toilet. Many have asked why not the Natures Head. The Airhead is better for a wetbath, much...
Making some progress...
I am doing a majority of the interior with 8020 extrusions (15 series) because of simplicity, and modularity. I can move things around and change them as i see i need to or if i dont like something.
One thing i struggled with was fastening the extrusions to the wall...
Kind of an odd choice to run two 30 amp chargers separately connected, versus one 60 amp charger. Sounds like someone totally overthinking something and making things a lot more complicated than they need to be honestly
