^ Jake, you're welcome to come wheel with me anytime. I'm in Seattle but who cares, we like driving. No heavy wheeling for me this weekend, but some pretty views on the peninsula: Gotta love living in the PNW.

I was told these non-E rated duratracs would split in half the moment they saw a rock. Luckily no such issues :) Friend brought his Dakota along as well, you can see him here having a blast. Van Epp's Pass, Cle Elum, WA

    L322 Overlanding Build and Adventures

It's certainly a trade off between clearance and and articulation. 20/35mm is a pretty minimal amount (I missed the part where you were taking tire diameter increase into account). I'll be having fun in the dirt this weekend, I'll play around and see if I prefer the clearance over the increased...

    L322 Overlanding Build and Adventures

Can I ask why you are running your suspension taller than OE? I posted a thread recently in which we discussed specifically how running topped-out has no net advantage other than looking cool. In fact, you're just beating up your CVs and air components more, while losing downward travel. Your...

Can a stock LR4 handle Canyonlands & Moab?

Canyonlands requires a permit to do White Rim Road in its entirety. It's well worth it. Like others said, bring a spare, a plug kit, compressor... make sure you have LOTS OF GAS AND WATER. And tell someone you're going. It's a long loop. In Moab, start with Fins N things. Then do Hells'...

LR3/LR4 owners: What height do you set your suspension?

Exactly JWest! We are saying the same thing. Probably not the best grammar (sorry). You’ve “balanced” being at a lower air strut height by adding spacers to bring yourself back to nominal ride height and geometries while allowing addl downward travel when you want it.

LR3/LR4 owners: What height do you set your suspension?

I've searched and I haven't seen this discussed... so here goes. On an LR3/4, the fender to axle height is 465mm front, 485mm rear per factory. You gain an additional 50mm of static height with Off-Road setting. With tools like LLAMS, IIDT, or rods, we can raise static ride height far higher...

    Rear Lockers

Here to echo everyone else. Saying the locker is pointless is incorrect. Saying it's necessary is also likely incorrect. It's a nice to have. Weigh it accordingly with other factors with the vehicle you purchase. I was lucky and got the right truck *and* it had the locker.

    Which one?

As much as hotel bills suck, being stuck on the ride of the road sucks more. I hope you made it back to Bozeman and am looking forward to hearing what solved the issue.

    Which one?

Jump in, toggle the 4x4 menu. Lock on rear axle? You've got a locker. Or you can look underneath for the actuator mechanism. Either way it's not essential, just added bonus jaw-dropping points to my FJ Cruiser buddy who was watching me crawl right up everything with front wheels alternating on...

    Which one?

You're welcome to add Seattle to the list. If you need you can PM me with links to trucks to check out. Fly out, sleep and drive back. Plenty of rich folk who used these to haul their kids and never left pavement. I agree with the others that the HD package isn't necessary but it's nice. My...

    Which one?

Both seem a little high in price. What part of the country are you in? You won't know if the air suspension needs work until you pull a fuse and let it sit for a few days. New compressor is a good thing though. Either truck have the HD package? Neither sounds like a steal. Good call on the...

Anyone got a spare LR3 LCA with a bad bushing?

Guys, I was in the process of replacing the front rearward LCA bushings on my LR3 with polyurethane ones but accidentally put a slot into the arm while removing the sleeve. I now have an arm with a good ball joint, good forward bushing, new rear bushing... but bad metal. No cracking (yet) but...

    Used LR3?

Very happy here as well. The good news is that the used market is very scared of used Discos so you can get a *very* inexpensive truck. A similar year/mileage toyota would have cost 2.5x and not been nearly as nice. I've done nothing but lower CA bushings and maintenance on mine.

LR2 vs LR3 Which has the better build quality?

Note: The LR2 isn't really a discovery. I'm assuming you mean Discovery Series II vs LR3.

Tow anti sway options for LRs with air suspension

Oh god, those brakes that activate based on the tongue load? Def not great. I can't imagine towing without proper brakes... did it once with an unloaded trailer, never again.
