GAP/IIDT lists the center to fender calibration height identically for the LR3/4. I'd trust this. The truck will lower by 10mm when exceeding I believe 130kmh for over 10 seconds.
You can run -10mm sure, but you better align it for it.
There is no inherent safety bonus with Volvo. This is a 70s era saying which has somehow persisted - at the time (prior to safety standards) Volvo was way ahead of the game.
If you want safe, you're best off buying the newest 5-star truck you can buy. Volvo of course makes a fine safe machine...
Here to echo what everyone else said.
Buy the JL wrangler, or a nice LR4, or whatever else. The newer cars are so incredibly capable without any of the drawbacks of the 'cool' older cars. We spend 90% of our time on the highway and it's good to have your eyes wide open to this (assuming you...
You are aware that your tires aren't 6 or 10 ply right? That's an equivalent rating, not an actual ply count. Again, I ask that you calm down with the condescending comments. The equivalent ply count is only to help bring the newer tires in line with the older ratings. From an actuall Goodyear...
Sure, a heavier and heavier duty tire will be more durable.
Does it matter for 99.999999% of the driving folks do? Nope. Most of us aren’t doing the Baja. And I sure as hell go a lot farther and further off road than most.
I did 6+mo driving every backroad and off-road trail I could find in...
Well that helps ;) Hahahha didn’t mention you had the cheat code. I’d imagine it’d go far better if I was in your shoes.
Ray_G: DSC is off, with the button anyway. However there is no way to keep the TR/DSC system from running the brakes that I know of. With mud/ruts it was minimal but I...
15-30?!?! Holy crap, that's flying. Even at 10-15 I could smell my brakes.
What pressures were you running? I did let my buddy drive for a minute.... hahhahahah
Did a little run up to Tonga Ridge on Saturday. Unfortunately we had to turn around before the top - I was leading the pack with my LR3 and it was pretty slow going with the slushy/melty snow providing very little traction.
To lessen the risk of losing a bead, I stuck to 15psi. No chains here...
Agreed on both points. My buddy just listed his 2001 Tacoma with TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND MILES locally for $8500 and had folks beating down his door.
I paid significantly less for my '06 LR3 HD with half the miles. Aside from LCA bushings I've only done preventative maintenance and the comfort...
Extended warranties are a business. I always tell people - they HAVE to make money, which means they MUST pay out less than you put in (as a whole).
Soooo I don't use warranties. Period.
Like Mr West said tho, insurance is another beast. I carry a LOT of coverage. I can deal with a repair, I...
