Went to replace my drivers side fog light bulb yesterday and noticed that the actual bulb wasnt burned out. Long story short it appears the socket where the bulb plugs into either melted or is no longer working properly. The old bulb was pretty hard to get out, and when I put the new one in the...

I bet thats it. Just out of curiosity I stopped by the dealer yesterday to see how much they wanted for the harness...$256!!!! I'll be going with the one from Atlantic British.

Mine is in the same spot and is def there from the factory, I bought my truck from the original owner, and he never towed anything with it. It is actually clipped into the sheet metal on the inside of the taillight and has a little dust cover as well...factory indeed :smiley_drive:

Is there a factory wire harness for trailer lights tucked somewhere in the back of these trucks (02 Disco SE) or will I have to splice into the brake lights etc?

A standard OBDII scanner won't clear the codes? I have one of those already...

Well I bought the 2002 I went and looked at today!! Not having the CDL is not really that big of a deal to me, I am sure it'll do just fine on the beaches without it. The truck is super clean, full maintenace history and best of all only has 67k miles on it! Pictures soon!

Found a minty clean 02 with only 67k miles, should know later today if its all going to work out :)

Thanks for all the great info, my bad on the BMW engine thing. So it sounds like it's best to go for a 99-02 skip the 03 or get an 04? The beaches here in NC are all flat, and if you're down in the tide wash area you could almost drive a 2wd vehicle out there, its just that getting on and off...
