Very cool truck! I read this on tapatalk which cuts off the end of the title...so the whole time I was reading your first post I was thinking wow nice build but this guy is smoking crack asking for $120k! Then I got to the actual price and thought, man this guy might still be smoking...

    Black Bear and Lockers

To the OP and others, I posted the first negative comment from my phone, but now in front of the computer for a bit further explanation. IMO Black Bear is not a terribly difficult trail from a technical sense, but the results of a bad move are dire to say the least. If someone is asking about...

    Black Bear and Lockers

No lockers at all!!! And I don't want to be rude, but if you have to ask that question this is probably not a trail you should be attempting by yourself!

There is nothing to do on the East Coast report....

Wow, you guys know how to cook while camping! I'd be worried that I wouldn't want to do anything other than eat if we went camping with you :)

    Hema Maps BJ74 Build Thread?

Here is another bonus of running 33s..... my conversion from Kph to Mph after converting for tire size is now .7 - I'm a lot better at my .7 times tables than my .62! Elevation does make a big difference, not sure where the original poster is from. I didn't regear my 100 with 295/75/16s and...

Coincidentally, I bumped into Scott while he was driving this truck in Moab back in March. This was part of my cross-country journey home.

    Hema Maps BJ74 Build Thread?

Is it an auto or a five speed? Mine is a five speed and with 33 rolls along just fine at 70 and will do 75+ if I push it. This was actually one of my biggest concerns about driving the truck if you read some of the stuff over on mud there is a contingent of folks who like to joke about how slow...

Also, at 6'5" you will need to modify the front seat bracket. I'm 6'2" and Jason from Cruisin Off Road, who also built the other armor, built some extensions for the seat to move it back about 2". You would definitely need to do that....especially with a JDM truck which is setup for very...

IM1RU's VMI Trailer (now with Trimbren 3500HD suspension)

Definitely agreed with you there, we have been planning on a TD for awhile now and the biggest goals are to have quick and easy setup/packup times and be able to camp in reasonable comfort during inclement weather. A few more questions if you don't mind? Can you still use the awning when the...

Landshark, I think you'd be pretty happy with the 74 as a DD. The turbo version scoots around town just fine. It took me about 5' to get used to driving on the right hand side. The worst part is when switching back to LHD I always seem to get the TS and wipers mixed up! The 74 is a great 1...

IM1RU's VMI Trailer (now with Trimbren 3500HD suspension)

Do you know the dimensions of the cabin/box? 2340lbs dry will make for a pretty heavy trailer all loaded up with gear and water for the weekend. I'm surprised it weighs that much given the all-aluminum construction. I really like how the wheels are inset into the body. The specs online show...

Matthewp's MuTTT (Multiple Terrain Tactical Teardrop).

Hi Matt, I was thinking about your trailer today and seem to remember you had fabbed up some sort of rubber connection b/w the roof of the TD and the awning, so that when the awning was deployed it kept the rain from getting down the side of the TD in the gap b/w the awning and the tear. Do...

    few questions on foxwing awning

Hi Jerry, I'd love to see some photos of your Manta. Does the coverage in the rear over the tailgate area the same on that vs. the Bat? How easy is pack up and getting it back into the bag? I've watched the video on Paul's site which shows a very simple setup and stoy-away which is a main...

I have a 100 and a 74 and they are both great vehicles. The 74 is a really great expo rig for 1 or 2 people. Let us know any specific questions you might have.

    My Offroad Tear Drop Plan/Build.

Thanks for the explanation. That's going to be an awesome awning setup. One of the big things I want to make sure that our future TD will have is good protection from the rain. I think the rear hatch door like you have and this awning will be a perfect combo. Have you given any thought...

    ARB 2500 awning issue

Here is a pic of my 2000ARB awning setup in a pretty decent rainstorm. Not the best photo, but you can see that the leg furthest from the camera is much lower to allow the rain to run off.
