    My Offroad Tear Drop Plan/Build.

I don't understand exactly how the fabric works for the Manta.... is it all one piece, including the rectangular section? Or is it two pieces? I can't visualize how it would work as all one piece.

    My Offroad Tear Drop Plan/Build.

Wow can't wait to see the execution of this! I've watched the video of Paul May setting up the bat wing awning a number of times it is such a clever slick setup. Will you have separate poles of will they be integrated like the bat? From your first picture it looks like you are emulating the...

Expo Trailer or RTT? Advice requested

Our trails out here in the east are very tight. Lots of rocks and trees. Not like the wide open spaces in the western US and what you might have in Australia. So it's a bit different ballgame here with some different considerations. Depending on the type of wheeling and trails you want to...

Expo Trailer or RTT? Advice requested

P.S. I really like the slide out kitchen of your trailer! I am surprised more pop-ups don't have that feature. Are people really going out camping and want to cook inside their trailer? A slide out kitchen with an awning over the same side would be a great setup.

Expo Trailer or RTT? Advice requested

It all depends upon the type of camping you like to do. We are facing a similar conversation in my house, a 100 series LC, my wife, our two older kids, a large dog and a baby on the way. Up until now we have a large ground tent and the LC can barely fit all of us. With the baby and all...

    Post up your drawer/storage system

Nomad - if you find it to be a hassle you could probably cut down the width of the flip forward sleeping platform so that you can access the wings anytime. You might not need the large width for sleeping depending on where you put your head. Incidentally, I just ordered up some of these for...

    Post up your drawer/storage system

Looks nice! Can you only get access to the side wings when the sleeping platform is flipped forward? Is so, I think you'll find this very annoying in everyday usage. Those side wings are nice for lots of little things and we use them often.

camp pad / bed for 4 person family?

We have 4 of us and each has their own inflatable pad. It works well, but is a PITA to setup camp and move camp every night. 4 sleeping bags, 4 pads, the tent, rainfly, ground cover, etc. We can park and have everything setup in about 35-40'. Packing up takes longer as rolling everything...

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

I was surprised it popped out so easily with just the maxtrax. Looks like it was in there deep! Rookie question on nighttime caravan desert driving: Were all the trucks fully lit up to look better on the camera? I would imagine truck 2 and 3 being fully illuminated would be a bit hectic for...

    Expeditionist LX 470 build

Truck is looking great! I love my BIOR rear bumper and will second that Mike is great to work with. I was like you and ordered the DS swing arm initially but I couldn't figure out what to do with my DS swing out until a few months ago when I had some armor built for my BJ74 and had a swappable...

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

Hi Kurt - thanks for the reply and backstory. I was almost certain there was good reason for everything and not just manufactured drama for the sake of drama, but a quick line or two describing the above would've been a nice touch. Not just because it would've put my wife at ease that we...

    Anviljk's JKUR Adventure Thread

I really like the NE property. Well worth the extra bucks if the park is crowded as I've never seen the NE side busy. I've got an arb 63 that spends the vast majority of its time holding down the drawer system in the Hundy and a ps stove for that matter. If your next trip doesn't overlap with...

I took mine apart with intentions of recovering, then just scuffed and sprayed them with rattle can. It's been almost 2 years now and it has worn very well. I picked a contrasting brown to match the tan interior. Just throwing out another option:

    Expedition Overland - 2015 Season

Really enjoyed the episode! That said, I was a bit worried that the drama was going to be a bit overplayed.... what was the reason for all the last minute worrying and running around? They didn't decide out of the blue to go on this trip, so would've thought a bit more time would've been...
