Here is an interesting concept I just saw on the TD facebook page.
I think a separate quick shelter for potty and shower duties is a much better solution, but thought this was a bit clever and interesting nonetheless.
Hi Craig,
A few quick questions and maybe I missed the answers above:
what is the total height of the trailer from ground to top of cabin?
What size tires?
what is the height of the cabin itself?
does it have brakes?
I'm surprised that at 1800+# you can easily maneuver it by hand around...
Great responses thus far, thanks to everything this is exactly the kind of feedback I was hoping for. Adam makes a good point above about everything being a compromise and that's why this is a hard decision for us. We don't want to limit ourselves and are also trying to decide on something...
Greetings,
Perhaps there already exists a thread similar to what I am looking for. If so, please point me in the right direction.
As we are debating what kind/type/size of trailer to add to our setup I would be interested to hear others experiences in towing off road. We really want a 5x10...
Hi Rin, nice to see you again, thanks for showing me around the shop and the James Baroud tents. Very nice units, we will be giving a serious think about the smaller unit vs. the "King Size Palace" GrandRaid XXL.
The Accuride 9301/9308 will make for a nice fridge slide setup. You can build this for ~$200 which is cheaper than any of the commercially available setups. They also work nicer!
Thanks for the quick replies everyone. In my typical last-minute fashion we are leaving on Wednesday so we'll have to make do with moving the tank around for this trip. At least it will give me a chance to figure out the maximum length I will need and then call partner up and get it ordered...
I just laid out my plug and wire and kept opening and closing the fridge on the slide until I was happy with how it worked. The cord is *just* long enough to reach the fridge when it is fully extended. When it slides back into place the wire/cord just wraps under the slide. Here are a few...
Hello all,
Quick question...I am looking for a longer gas line for my Partner Steel stove. I just recently sorted out my driver side swing arm with a permanently mounted propane tank:
So now I need an 8-10' long line so that I can keep the tank mounted and have some options on where I want...
I saw you got a shout out on one of the AT for sale threads thought you might be bringing one of those back east!
Is that your sleeping platform seen behind the passenger seat in post #249 above? I love the simplicity and ease of sleeping in the back of the truck. I need to make some...
FWIW I have a grp34 secondary battery in my Land cruiser, it will run my ARB63qt fridge for 2-3 days tops in the hot summer months before reaching the mid-level shutoff point on the ARB. I forget what the exact voltage is. Somewhere on here are some calculations you can do with fridge draw...
@Yulli - I am a slow learner and just now realizing that it was you who I spoke with before my trip. You had a screenname change right? Sorry I'm slow. My trip was really hectic, ended up having to spend an extra night in BC before crossing the border, and then heading immediately down to...
Hi Chris, thanks for sharing the info on your experiences. I'd like to hear more about towing the TD and what type of trails you've done with it. I really think a TD is the right solution for our family, but out here in the east the trails are fairly tight and lots of trees. The intent...
